What's Good: Beautiful property, nice facilities
What needs to improve : Two things - 1. Food - Huge scope of improvement. Need to get a top chef there as the prices are 5-star but the food does not live up the standard.

We were a family of 3 (myself, wife and daughter) who stayed for 3 nights at the Le Meridien Mahabaleshwar in Feb 2018. The location, property, staff and the management team are a unique combination to ensure that your stay is memorable. The first thing that strikes you as soon as you enter is that the reception is a small stand alone building with large windows nestled among the trees that creates a very good sense of place. The resort is nestled among 27 acres of thick and lush greenery (keep in mind that unlike Matheran, you do not walk through greenery in Mahabaleshwar when out on the streets). The hotel is located on the fringes of Mahabaleshwar which means that you are spared the noise, even while remaining connected to the market (<2k away) and only a short distance from principal tourist attractions. The rooms are modern and slick, spotlessly clean, well appointed with crisp white linen, large chic bathrooms (which include a rain shower cubicle as well as a tub) and large private sit outs. The rooms offer stunning vistas of the western ghats from the private sit out areas where you can sip a cup of coffee and soak in the silence of the mountains which is broken ocassionally by the chirping of birds or a the cackle of a monkey. They have 2 pools - the second of which is an infinity pool that is also heated. The property caters to kids (a huge plus for those travelling with infants) - with a large kids area, a games room and 2 swimming pools. My daughter extensively used the heated pool and tried her hand at carrom, table tennis as well as the pool table. the housekeeping does a very commendable job in their turn down service as well as putting the room back in order after your kid has left it looking like a war zone (they did a particularly good job of getting the bathroom and bathtub slick and dry after my daughter had run amock with the handshower in the tub). They have an all day dining restaurant and an Indian specialty restaurant alongwith a bar. We tried the lunch buffet at the ADD and also had a very nice meal at the Indian restaurant. The lunch buffet offers a spread of different cuisines (and if you opt for the alcohol brunch on Saturday, you can wash it down with beer or red wine). The Chingari restaurant has a superb ambience and the food only elevates the experience . We enjoyed a vegetarian meal of kofta, dal and roti - the flavours are truly outstanding. Do try the paan ice cream to tease your taste buds after the meal. The breakfast buffet is very elaborate with 3 live counters to help you fuel up for the rest of the day. We also tried the in room dining when we did not feel like stepping out and came away very impressed with the veg sichuan basket, veg garlic fried rice and the paneer paratha that my daughter had. We did not try the bar, the pool bar or the spa and are unable to offer a view on these. We stayed 3 nights and have no complaints of either the rooms, public areas, restaurants, staff or the service. On the contrary, the staff did everything they could (and more) to combine with a very fine property and ensure that the vacation delivered what we set out to achieve - a quiet stress free time (in the lap of green luxury, if you will) with the family where our daughter can have her share of fun as well. When you sum it all up together, you know exactly what you are paying for. We would like to thank GM Rishi Chopra and his very efficient team for a truly wonderful time at the Le Meridien Mahabaleshwar. Its safe to say we were already talking about coming back even as we prepared to check out. Highly recommended if you are looking for an extended weekend not too far from Mumbai.

Well I didn't stay in this property but did utilize their services to gift one of our friends a two day mini honeymoon gift. Also we wanted to gift him a suprise dinner which is where the quality of service took a dip. For instance, despite me sending an email out to reservation I never received a response back. Then eventually I called up the property but yet again either my call was transferred or request was noted but I never received a call back with quotation. Finally I had to escalate to Starwood customer care post which there was a big paradigm shift in the way my request was handled. It was simply top notch and something we all expect is crisp communication. Special thanks to Debashish who provided detailed explanation on how the surprise dinner will be set up and making it special for our friend. Also to Ritika and another lady (whose name I can't recollect) for arranging in room decoration. My friend only fed me back with loads of positive responses and praises to the staff, property and services from this property.

Le Meridian is everything you would expect in a luxury resort! Our room was very modern and had an extremely comfortable bed. The bathroom rivaled any luxury spa. Plus the added touches of chocolates and a fruit tray made us feel very welcomed! Refreshing towels and beverages were served at check in and then we were taken to our room by golf cart. The property is very large but yet everything can be reached through a casual stroll or by arranging a buggy ride. We enjoyed strolling the grounds with their lovely sculptures and artwork. The restaurants and staff were top notched. We especially enjoyed dining at Chingari. The only thing that was a negative during our stay is that they charge for Wi-Fi. It should be complimentary for a Starwood luxury property like this.

It is a superb property where u can enjoy the serenity as well as the local feel of being in the market. The feeling of being in the woods, chirping of birds, water bodies, infinity pool, spa. The hospitality of the staff is par excellence, service is excellent and they pamper you as only you are the most important guest and your happiness matters the most. With them every moment feels like celebrations as they can do anything to pamper you. The taste of all the cuisine is excellent, the ambience of their wood restaurant is very different with a good live singer and the staff especially Ankush was very good. Chingari Indian restaurant headed by Utkranti with so much of love and warmth is always there around you making you help with the best choice of food and authentic flavors pampered till the end with Ranjeet who serves you before you even decide to serve yourself... Not to forget one of the best longest spreads if breakfast I have seen with the best variety of eggless breads and cakes.... Jain and vegetarian can have a feast. Nagesh Kapoor took good care at the breakfast.... All in all you can't go wrong with this property, ambience, food, hospitality everything.

The Scale of this resort is HUGE. Lush greens all around and inside the resort. We stayed in the forest view room. You can enjoy the nippy weather in a nice balcony sit-out. The room has a quite modern design. Bathroom is plush with luxurious amenities. Best part of the property is the Heated Infinity Pool. What a mind-blowing view of the valley from there. You can simply laze there for hours together in the chilly surroundings. Nice children activity zone. The breakfast was sumptous, with quite a few choices. Ala carte menu is bit pricy with little choice, so we ended up going to the town instead. Overall, a pretty cool and romantic destination this resort is, A Must-Stay.
