What's Good: Good place. In the Center of City. Spacious resort. Rooms are bigger. Near to beach. Nice breakfast.
What needs to improve : Rooms are filled with lots of furniture which makes it little conjusted. RoomService is quite slow and needs many follow up.

Reason For Rating : Had a g8 stay.

What's Good: Location is good. Beach-front property. Large swimming pool. Cottages are nice but overpriced.
What needs to improve : The rooms and bathrooms badly need renovation. Room service is not up to mark.
Reason For Rating : 1. The fittings in the bathrooms of the rooms (not cottages) are much to be desired for. Most of the bathroom fittings are falling apart. 2. The room did not have a room service menu card; finally we were handed a xerox copy of the menu. 3. Our luggage was left in the hotel lobby after check-in with no bell-boys available to shift them to our rooms. Finally I had to personally shift them as I couldn't wait any longer. 4. Speed of WiFi is similar to dial-up modem. Might as well not use it. 5. Speed of room service can improve.

What's Good: Private beach.. but it has to be more accesible
What needs to improve : South indian Vegeterian and baby food options, kids friendliness, check in and check out,
Reason For Rating : More food option for in room dining. Keep a menu in each from. Include baby friendly food or at least be flexible on that from kitchen to prepare when requested. Ensure TV is setup before check-in. This is basic. Vegetarian South indian dishes a must add in the menu. Check out process is very slow. It took me 20 mins on the counter even though all bills were settled last evening.

by Jayesh on Jun 23,2018
What's Good: Located right on the beach
What needs to improve : Egg n Dosa station management
Reason For Rating : Located right on the beach ....very eager and helpful staff...lot of options for breakfast...though dosa and egg station need better management of peoples requests, people would walk up to station order food and walk away...some of them would stand near the station and wait while others would walk just walk up grab the food and leave, seems like chaos...

Reason For Rating : There were no activities for the children and the play area for the children was stinking.

What's Good: Nice hotel, has some part of beach which is safe. Gave us grace time or check out and reception desk is supportive.. One issue is , we have to ask them for each accessory like dental kit, bathroom kit.
by Ben on Mar 02,2015
What's Good: Fairly average hotel that is completely underutilizing the potential of the property. It is based on a beautiful beach but has absolutely no beach activities. No food or drinks served on the beach and not even a deck chair. It has a great pool but if I wanted a pool, I need not have travelled to Mahabalipuram.
by RAJAGOPAL JK on Jan 18,2015
What's Good: Stray dogs are moving around in plenty in the resort and follow you every where. Drainage block observed and reported no action taken. No news paper given in the rooms. Excellent location and lots of space under utilised
by Arulmozhi Jambulingam on Dec 15,2014

First on positives. The resort is well spread with access to clean beach. Staff at front desk and room service are well mannered. The swimming pool is really large. The room size is very spacious. Few things that can be improved. Restaurant- lunch and dinner tariff is very high and clearly not a value for money. Most of the Indians cant afford and I saw many going out even for dinner across the small town. Appears the price was fixed keeping foreigners in mind. 2 steam rice, 1 yellow dhal, 1 curd rice and a Veg fry cost us 1700/- Water quality of swimming pool clearly needs improvement as I couldnt see my toe nail a clear sign of too much water particles. Wish we had few hammocks near their beach restaurant. There are so much shade from many trees near the beach but without hammocks you may not feel comfortable staying too long.

the website makes this place look inviting. however, its a desolate and badly maintained property. when i stayed, the first aspect I notice was the reception area. It was not manned by a professional but my someone who was moonlighting as an accountant or clerical staff. this was not a good sign. i went to my room -- bad lighting outside. they opened the door and the room was large but looked as if no one had stayed there for a while. the A/C did not function..the bed sheets were stained..there was only 1 socket for my computer use (had to take turns charging my phone). the bathroom did not flush but after 10 minutes it started to work (did they turn off water supply). there was no shower curtain and no separation from the bath area to the toliet. the floor was grimy. the bathroom door had been fixed by a few wooden planks. major problem was that there was no wifi at all. i called for help but they could not get it up and running. in the morning I noticed the entrance door to my cabin had peeled wood etc. there was no promised sea view but large mounds of sand which they said was for a golf course being built. there was no gym!! this day and age, every top hotel has a fitness center!! i checked out of the hotel after complaining to the front desk staff. She kept calling someone else and switched between english and tamil while not acknowledging my complaints. the staff did not seem trained at all - its as if they hired a few individuals off the streets and got them there because they could pay them less. very shocking. no surprise that there was hardly any guests. stay away from this hotel. I stayed at a different hotel in the city -- what a sea change. chariot hotels - what a disappointment. Pl hire a full time manager who stays there. Hire better staff. make sure that your cabins and rooms are really clean and functioning.

Property: Spread across acres and acres of land with areas for outbound physical activities and sports. It has a private beach where by you can enjoy the sunrise/ sunset amidst nature at its best. Huge conference room/ banquet facilities for more than 200 people at one time (the one I used for training 160 people) Rooms: The place has cottages spread across the open areas and also rooms in the main buildings. The rooms are big enough to accommodate 3-4 people. Food: They serve a vast variety of food and especially the sea food is amazing. The buffet is lavish and very tasty. Hospitality: The staff is always happy and smiling and at your service always. They make you feel welcomed and proactively take care of your needs. Sight Seeing: Walking distance from the hotel are heritage sights like Five Rathas, Krishna's Butter ball etc. The light house is also nearby and you can climb to the top to enjoy an awesome view. Shopping: On way to the heritage sights, local shops sell stone sculptures of various gods/ goddesses and other forms.

Recently we stayed in Chariot, during a business meeting. Very well maintained property, clean and neatly maintained. Service was awesome and hotel cottages were very well appointed. I really liked the open shower in the cottage Lovely sunrise in clean beach in the morning coupled with yoga ..rejuvenates and prepares for strong day The breakfast fast spread was good and poolside evenings are awesome

The chickens fly from the bowl on their way to the plate. You get tomato rice in place of biryani. All photos shows swimming pool but it is only for residents. You could pretty much go next to crocodile park and have a picnic next to the beach and get the same experience
