    What's Good: rooms

    What needs to improve : there was no lift. Although the room was in first floor, but still you need to have a lift.

    Reason For Rating : There were no activities for the children and the play area for the children was stinking.

  • Great property, service and staff can be improved.

    The main problem with Chariot is that it'll always be compared to neighboring Radisson Blu Temple bay . Having now stayed at both properties, Chariot fails to deliver on the amazing service provided at Temple bay. Right from my interactions with the reception, emails with the reservation desk and the inability to cater to customisations to food , Chariot doesn't live up to the 4 stars that it's been awarded. We had our lunch from Otavadi street which gives you a number of options. Dinner was at the Beach side restaurant and was quite average to be honest , the grilled chicken sizzler was rather small, overcooked and tough. The Tom Yum sea food soup was delicious . We were supposed to receive a complimentary cake on arrival but that didn't happen either . So clearly there's a lack of communication there . We tried asking for a ham/sausage/chicken and cheese omlette but the staff flat our refused saying it wasn't possible . The best thing about the resort though is the pool and the clean beach . The property in general has a lot of potential but just doesn't live up to it .

  • Great relaxing experience!

    by Udaywadhera on January 14, 2018

    We were here for a night on a family visit in dec 17 enroute from pondicherry via east coast road.Took 2 hours to get here from pondicherry driving. Resort is spread out across 60 acres and has a private beach access to it as well. Resort staff was welcoming , n helpful in anything you may need. Rooms were huge , well equipped and tidy- nothing to conplain about. There are 2 restaurents at the property one serving mainly sea food ( by the beach) n the other primarily an alakarte restaurent. Food taste was overall good, breakfast buffet was good with great options and live counters for food. Stay at the villas if you can afford it since they directly ovrrlook the pool ( great with kids ). Not much to do outside this property in general so go here if you want to have a relaxing getaway for 1-2 nights and not very far from bangalore. - there is an sea shell museum outside this property in case you are interested;

  • An expensive and very disappointing stay..

    by Alan_from_Ohtel on January 11, 2018

    Having owned a hotel for 10 years, I'm always reluctant to criticise a property - but in this case, it was so far below what was promised - and the cost (at 12,200 INR per room night), so below par, I have to post this to avoid others wasting hard-earned money on this dive.. Don't be fooled by the picturesque pool photos, the property is 2 star at best. First and foremost, the place is filthy. The rooms, bathrooms, common areas and restaurant are just covered in grime. Maintenance of the resort is non-existent, with important life preserving features like fire protection devices and covers to wiring missing from some rooms. Towels and linen are thread bare, marked and well past their usability. We had some great stays during our family reunion trip to Mumbai and Chennai, but having to sacrifice the cost of 6 rooms for nights 2 and 3 of our stay to move from this dump, really left a bad taste in our mouth - very, very poor.. The wheels have definitely fallen off this Chariot - Book elsewhere.

  • Typical Indian middle class resort

    by Calvin W on January 5, 2018

    Having lived in india for several years we have come to know what to expect from an Indian middle class resort, and they were on par with our expectations. As a foreigner arriving for the first time india, having experience from middle class resorts elsewhere in the world, then one will be disappointed with the general cleanliness, quality of food and service. Location is nice on the beach and literally next door to the wonderful ancient ruins & temples of Mahabalipuram.

  • Team Outing and Fun

    by SurajKamath on January 1, 2018

    Enjoyed every bit , we were provided with a separate section and a group of event hosts , after welcome drinks and introduction there were various team building exercise among the teams. A lavish buffet arrangements were made with drinks. A evening was spent on the beach before we headed back. Though we didn't have other arrangements like lodging , the restore has independent individual rooms , swimming pool and other leisure facilities.
