This is a wonderful property close to park. This is real resort enviornment. Very warm hospitality. Cottages are very clean and well maintained. Food quality is average. Suggest to improve breakfast spread matching to resort feeling.

At Musa Jungle Retreat it was difficult to know who were staff and who were guests as the staff just wore various jeans and T-shirts. When we arrived there was no briefing about what we should expect, meals, safaris etc. and we had to ask the questions. We asked about dinner and were given a menu to choose, so we ordered but had to wait for the chef to come down to say it was ok! The menu is very limited if you don't like local food. We were taken to our room by two lads. The room is a little lodge called Grazing Rhino lodge in the grounds fairly close to the main area and very comfortable once we had worked things out.

the resort is between the national park and a tea garden. only thing that separates it from park is the fence of park. you can even see occasional rhino and peacock from resort. excellent place to stay. but just see that you take AC room only in summer.

We were a family of 3 and had booked the Grazing Rhino room. Of all resort around the park, this one definitely stood out for ambiance , courteous staff, room size, hygiene etc. Pros : 1. The resort is very conveniently located near to main gate of the national park. 2. They arrange Jeep Safaris with pickup from the hotel reception area 3. A big play area for kids 4. The restaurant is inside the resort, and food was simple, but hygienic. We were served authentic north indian style rotis (we normally only find rotis made out of maida elsewhere) 5. Early morning, you can spot peacocks roaming around the cottages. Cons: 1. I found the resort a little bit expensive with around 7K for one night with only breakfast included. They should have all meals included packages at that price. 2. Kids play area had broken see saws, blocked slides and a wooden serpent with nail jutting out, so had to keep a watch over my son 3. For dinner, we were asked to place our order earlier than usual as there weren't much visitors and they were planning to shut it down early Jeep Safari : We opted for afternoon Jeep Safari (@ around 3.5k) as the it was drizzling when we reached. And we could spot elephant herd, rhino herd, bison, tusker, turtles, migratory birds, golden langur & other monkeys, wild bulls, peacock etc. The higlight of the safari was definitely the stop by the banks of Manas River, near to the mathanguri check post. It is a very scenic location at the foothills of Indo-Bhutan border and only Jeep Safaris can take you there.
