The Sikhiri cottage is a cozy charming place in the Manas National Park. The cottages are spread in a nice green area, with plants and trees around. The place has different types of rooms, with varied price ranges. We were allocated in a very comfortable room/cottage facing the river. The room was big, and had a good bathroom. There are also smaller rooms and tents (in an open area). The staff was really caring and helpful. They helped us organize our safari (elephant safari was also available) and took us around in the local market. The food was also very good. We recommend the place and hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did!

hi to all traveller. the hotel mangement is not good. they even didn't mention that if u had to stay in a tent then u have sleep in sleeping bags; is it possible for a 6 year old kid and senior citizens to sleep in a sleeping bag also out in the wild. The thing is not about sleeping bags and also a tent it is about safety concern for the traveller as its a TERRORIST INFESTED and Naxalite - Maoist area and if something goes wrong then who will be responsible. This a fraud type of hotel or resort who cheat the customers. Then will not write or inform u in the website or booking websites, they will tell u only after u have paid the whole amout. so i request all traveller not visit or book in that resort.

It was a sudden plan to go this resort with my friends for an overnight, it always good to be amidst the nature. The resort is very beautiful and well maintained. The staff are lovely and very helpful and polite as you expect from a good resort. We had bonfire arranged by the resort and local dishes which were mouth watering. However the food price is too much, felt like management is taking advantage as there no other options available nearby. Nevertheless it was a good trip will recommend this place to others.

The resort is conveniently located about 2 kms from the gates of the Manas National Park. But the beauty is that it actually abuts the jungle and the jungle boundary is 10 meters from the boundary of the resort. Pros: 1. Amazing location. The resort has jungles of Manas on one side and a beautiful stream flowing on the other. The sitting area of the 3 cottages face the perrinial stream. Grab a book and let nature take over. 2. Food: Splendid. Go for the local food made by the family managing the resort. Ask for the fresh fish (caught in front of you) from the pond. Or simply ask for the local thali. 3. Experiences: Off beat. The resort itself is a paradise for birding and types of trees. Add a trip to Bhutan (currently a day trip for Indians only) through the Manas Reserve forest or a rafting experience on the borders of India. Do not miss the trip into the jungle. The chances of tiger sighting may be low compared to Ranthambore or some other tiger reserves but undoubtedly it is the most Virgin of all Indian Forest reserves. And it has its own set of specific animals found no where else in the jungles of India. Cons: 1. Do not overexpect. The drive from Guwahati is nice and goes through the national highway and some villages. But some tracts are still under repairs. 2. It's the jungles. It can get humid during summer afternoons and there are no AC's in the rooms currently. Winters and rains do not require a fan. I visited it during both summers and winters and it's amazing both times though it can be very humid during the summers. 3. Stay and eat local. The staff is helpful and does go out of its way to help organize. But given the far off interior location, there are limitations. If you want something special you will have to ask much in advance. Also book the experiences in advance if going during the rush seasons. All in all, a fantastic experience in this off beat destination.
