Located on the banks of the Cauvery River, Mayiladuthurai is a hamlet in the district of Nagapattinam. The town is a pilgrimage spot, whose historical temples are counted among the prime Mayiladuthurai tourist places. The most prominent temple to visit during a Mayiladuthurai tour is the Mayuranathaswamy Temple that is dedicated to Lord Shiva.
