To visit temples around Kumbakonam and Mayiladuthurai we went as a family for 3 days and stayed for a night at Kumbakonam and for another night at Mayiladurthurai. This guest house is located near Mayuranathar temple. I booked the room at this guest house via Makemytrip and while booking only one type of room has been listed out with lot of amenities like power backup (only fan and lights), refrigerator, newspaper, kitchenette, secured parking, balcony, double bedroom, etc. Since the reviews are also great, I booked this room for a night. No restaurants nearby and there are restaurants after 1 kilometer. This guest house is maintained by a single person Mr.Kathiravan. Since all the temples are closed in the afternoon and according to the plan there would be few temples left out in the evening to visit and since we have 7 year old boy, I requested Mr.Rajendran via phone before booking whether late check out i.e. at 3.30 pm would be allowed. I also offered that I would pay extra money for the late check out. But he asked me to stay till 3.30 p.m. without any extra charge. Pros: 1) Room was clean 2) Geyser, A/c and TV were available in the room 3) 2 soaps, 2 towels, 2 shampoo sachets and RO water in 5 liter water bottle have been provided. Cons: 1) I have not been given the room as mentioned in the Makemytrip website and I have been offered with a hall which has been converted into a bedroom with attached bathroom. 2) Since I have been provided with a hall, A/c capacity was not sufficient to cool the hall. Even though both A/c and fan were running in the room, we felt sultry. 3) Water didn't come at full force in the tap and it took around 10 minutes to fill the small bucket. I informed Mr.Kathiravan, he removed and cleaned the mesh in the water mixture but after few minutes problem occurred again. Since we have to go to Mannargudi, I asked him to fix the problem later and temporarily I asked him to remove the mesh which comes with the water mixture. Almost 30 minutes got wasted because of this. 4) There was no power for around 1 hour in the night and since there was no power backup we slept without a/c and fan. Same thing happened next day around 1.45 pm and we slept without a/c and fan in the afternoon heat for 45 minutes. I informed Mr.Kathiravan regarding the no power backup, but he didn't do anything. Later only I came to know that there was no power backup for that hall. 5) Out of two car parking, one car parking was available during check-in, but Mr.Kathiravan didn't ask me to park the car inside. Instead he asked me to park the car outside always. 6) We had to wait outside the guest house for 15 minutes before check-in, because Mr.Kathiravan's phone was not reachable and also guest house calling bell was not working. 7) We had two big trolleys as a luggage and my wife was struggling to take the luggage to the first floor. Even after seeing this Mr.Kathiravan didn't help us to carry the luggage. I went back and forth from car parking place to first floor room to bring all the luggages. This happenend during check-in and also at check-out also. I am a frequent traveller and had stayed at various hotels. This was the first time I stayed in a hotel room without power backup for long time. I really appreciate Mr.Rajendran for providing us room till 3.30 pm, but the room was not up to the mark. Because of the a/c cooling capacity and power cut we didn't have good sleep and also the late check out has completely become purposeless. My opinion is either the owner should have refused for late check out or he should have charged some amount for late checkout by providing the same room with amenities as mentioned in the Makemytrip website. Despite knowing that the power backup is not available in that hall and with other problems, allotting that hall to me is not fair.

This being our first service apartment stay experience, it really impressed us a lot. JP Nivaas is located in one of south mada street of Mayuranathar temple, with calm and a peaceful surrounding. The mornings are really pleasant with the chantings from the temple and sound of birds. The apartment itself is sufficient for a family with a hall, 2 bedrooms, kitchen and 2 bathrooms. Inside the kitchen they have a small fridge, induction and utensils. It was a cosy environment where we could buy milk, parcel meals and dinner and eat inside the apartment. My parents and children liked the place a lot. A special thanks to Mr. Kathiravan, the caretaker who was very welcoming and made sure that we felt comfortable throughout the stay. Keep up the good work.

I had visited this place on 5th and 6th of this month. Pro's:- 1.) Warm welcoming property owner and well assisting care taker completely during the stay. 2.) Property will be exactly clean as listed in the photos. 3.) All amenities will be provided as listed out. 4.) Since it's start of summer we didn't face any voltage drop while using multiple heater or air conditioner simultaneously, as well no power cuts due to which water accessible 24x7. 5.) Say bye to mosquitoe, rodents, cockroaches in this property and enjoy. Con's:- 1.) Due to multiple booking portals, we may get a wrong room specification what we found from them is that all rooms have the same specification. 2.) Property check-in timings will be beneficial if it starts at dawn (not sure due to maintenance reasons they may have noon check-in as specified in the booking portals). 3.) I stayed at ground floor left side entrance property kitchen utensil section there are narrows unsealed gaps lizards, if not noticed this start colonizing the kitchen to reduce the cooking space and creating more noise at nights.

We stayed overnight. Very peaceful location, Very friendly Caretaker. 2 Bed rooms and a Kitchen with Fridge. You can cook / make Tea coffee etc. It s a Homestay and not a Hotel Excellent for a small Family of 6 persons Max. Cons: a little bit away from the Main streets, if you want everything when you step out.

We five (55+ yrs: 2 & 35+ yrs: 3) stayed in this guest house between 02 Aug 2017 and 03 Aug 2017 (1 night). The guest house is located in the big temple street which is very easy to locate and easily accessible. It's less than 100 meters from Big temple. The guest house has a parking space for 2 small cars in the portico (We parked our SUV outside in front of the gate as there was one parked when we checked in) The check-in was very simple and quick. We booked 2 BHK guest house they have offered the same. The house provided for us got a kitchen (with mini fridge, induction stove and facilities to make tea / coffee), spacious drawing room (2 sofas), two bed rooms (both air conditioned and one with attached bathroom) were found spacious, very clean, neat and well maintained. The house was quite and we had very sound sleep without any disturbance. The incharge of the homestay Mr.Kathiravan is an amiable person and was really helpful. He even accompanied us to buy the dinner from a restaurant. There is no restaurant in this guest house but you can find many restaurants with in a kilometer distance. One night stay in this guest house was very good and we enjoyed our stay. We highly recommend this hotel for family & couples.
