Home away from home
by Anna E on
Coming back to this small lodge is like to be home again. Friendly staff and expecially Ram, the owner, who is most kindly person ever met in India. Wonderful view on Dalai Lama temple and valley. Nice sunset. A must if you are around in McLeod Ganj.
Would definitely stay here again!

We came in winter so my reason for four, rather than five stars is that it was very cold despite the heater we added to our reservation. The shower is not very strong BUT otherwise this place is perfect. We stayed in the top room which is large for two people with a balcony and large picture window with a view of HHDLs temple and grounds plus the mountains and valley. The owner is very sweet and the staff is lovely. The location is ideal. Just bring warm clothes for sleeping if you come in winter and dont expect a strong shower and you will be so glad you chose this place!
A home away from home - in the true sense of the word

Was recommended by a friend. The lodge is nothing fancy but clean and excellent service. Ram, the owner is such a great host and makes you feel like your own home - including listening to local fables from Himachal. Deso the staff is always at your service to help out. There is no restaurant but food can be ordered in the room. We didnt try it as a lot of restaurants are within walking distance. The view from our top room was overlooking Dalai Lamas residence and the beautiful Kalachakra temple. I wouldnt stay anywhere else except here in Mcleodganj...
Honest owner who doesn't overcharge even in peak season

We had booked online in another hotel which did not honour the booking at arrival as it was peak season and all hotels were booked. Nearby Kareri Lodge accepted us without any overcharge. The room was ok and the view was nice. The owner is a fine gentleman whose honesty needs a special mention.
A cozy hotel with a beautiful view of the valley and the Temple

We found this hotel by chance and we liked it so much that we spent many more nights there than we had planned before. This is a very quiet and cozy place. We felt at home here. The owner of this hotel Ram Swaroop is a very interesting conversationalist. We have found many interesting topics for conversation. We quickly became friends with him and his assistants. The atmosphere of friendliness and peace reigns throughout the hotel. It's a great place to spend a few days or a few months there.
Each room offers an excellent view, but from the room on the ground floor you can also see the construction site (but it's cheaper).
