What's Good: Hotel was ok but the location was very disappointing. There were a lot of budget hotels that were on a better location. We could have been offered any of those as well. It was at a very conjusted location and the approach road was pathetic. I had one child and an elderly person with me who found it extremely difficult to climb up and down there. Not a good experience location wise.

What's Good: We have a very good experience in this Hotel Owner. We were delayed by the Vandurga hotel in Katra and reached Mcloedganj at 2 AM in morning. I called up Hotel owner and he was little upset while receiving our phonr call at 2 AM. I told him where to park our car and he said there is no parking available and you have to park your vehicle some where else. I told him that i have my parents and small kid travelling with me and its not possible to take 120 staris to reach Pink House hotel. Owner was bit annoyed(as it was 2 AM) but on insisting he was agree to help us. He arrange another hotel(Holiday Hill) and said that new hotel is more costlier. He arranged new accommodation and adjusted the amount from old hotel(Pink House). He charged very reasonable for new accommodation. I am glad that he hepled us in arranging new place at reasonable price. I thank him very much for his courtesy. I would say please book Holiday Hill hotel as it has best View and Good parking space. I would like to trhank Pink House owner for arranging new Accommodation at 2 AM.

Stayed here for 3 nights in May,booked after going through reviews and in the end not satisfied with the stay. Location:On Jogiwara road, close to main area where lots of restaurants are situated, some good eating joint are nearby too. But the hotel is situated around 100 stairs down the main road means every time you have to go any where from market have to climb 100+ stairs. Staff:Hotel staff were courtious ,it took around 5 min to check in but before that 5-7 min to find the check in guy,I reached reception but no one was there to check in. Room:I had booking for superior room,it was very basic with basis amneties, just like a guest house, even furniture were basic, bed was hard, only good was view, had a attached balcony with a broken chair. In recent years I hadn't stayed and any room basic than this at the same price. Food:They had a rooftop restaurant with good view, cant comment much on food as it was overpriced so didnt order any thing other than tea and a fruit salad. They have a small collection of books at restaurant. Overal just ok stay, nothing special.

Pink house is down a steep set of stairs, but you get used to it. It is a good location to shops, cafes and temple. It is worthwhile booking a superior room that has a balcony and Mountain Views. The restaurant is lovely. My only small issue is that the reception staff seem to have the attitude that they are doing you a favor. More interested in their phones and friends than guests. Their communication about check out times and whether the rooms ever get cleaned are non existent. The waiter really does try is best, friendly and helpful. He was the best staff member there. The WiFi is much to be desired. You have to log on everytime you open up something that requires internet. And it logs you out after a few minutes. not great when I missed some important WhatsApp messages that did not some through.

I am not sure how this place is in the top 3 of places to stay in town!? First of all, the location is very unusual. I counted 120 steps to get to/from the hotel to the street. It is quite a slog to go up and down and its a little grotty and not very good at night time. There was only one person to help with two cases. So I had to lug a 20kg case down a steep flight of over 100 stairs. Next was the rooms. The pictures make it look nicer than they are. Although the view is good, if you happen to pay for that privilege and are on the mountain side and higher up. There is a balcony, but the chairs are old, damaged and not appealing to sit on. The bed is rock hard, there is no thin sheet and so you only get to sleep under a quilt and a woolen blanket (which didn't smell fresh). The shower room didn't seem clean and there was mold on the tiling. The shower was a trickle at times and sometimes the hot water was limited. There was a gross pair of shower flip flops that they put outside of the shower room! Worst of all, there is no heat source in the room. It was nearly down to 0c at night time and the room was freezing. All this for around 30gbp per night. Quite a rip off, considering what you get. Anywhere else the place would be 500INR per night. Its a very basic guesthouse (not a hotel) and has very minimal things you could consider the usual comforts of a hotel. There has to better for the price and anyone with walking difficulties or not fit, should not want to attempt the steps several times a day.

An average hotel with clean wash rooms and polite staff. The highlight of this hotel is its well decorated restaurant with clear view of the mountains. Talking about the flip side, it is not accessible through cars in any way so one has to climb up and down atleast 50 stairs, not at all recommended for the elders.
