This home stay is in a fantastic location surrounded by hills & gardens. We have stayed in a cottage with 2 rooms & a lobby. On the side of the cottage you can see valley like scenarios with hills converging to bottom. It is very greenish & pleasing to the eyes especially in clear weather. You will feel like staying there without going for any sightseeing. But the approach road is very bad & you have to experience unpleasant drive. This is about 3-4 KM away from main market & there is no shops in the near vicinity. Entrance to the home stay will be blocked by landslide if there is rain. You will have to take a walk for a short distance & your luggage will be taken care of by the owner. Breakfast is ok & dinner is good. But only vegetarian & they don't even allow non vegetarian food to be brought from outside. The courtesy towards their guests by the home stay is excellent.

I had never stayed at any Home stay before Rodhi ghar Homestay. The experience was such that we can not forget in our life. Alas! We could stay just one day in Rodhighar on 26th October'2015. But that one day stay was more than enough to fall in love with it. The owner Mr. Tirthankar Gurung along with his parents are so kind, generous, polite, hospitable, helpful & loving. They take care of their guest like their family. Our car could not go upto his home due to damage to the road in the rainy season, he himself carried our luggage to the Homesaty like a family. One can never expect this in a hotel. The owners are pure vegetarian like us and the owner's mother herself prepared all the food items in Lunch & dinner we had there. In the lunch she prepared Dal, Kadhi, Chilly Paneer, rice, Sarson Ka Saag, Mix Veg, papad, etc. which were very delicious & tasty. In the dinner We had Roti prepared in wood fire along with 4-5 different vegetables & Rice. All these items were prepared with love & affection. We thoroughly enjoyed all the items. In the evening we had tasty Pakoras along with herbal tea which even our children liked. There are total of 4 rooms. The rooms are neat & clean having spacious Bathrooms with 24 Hours hot & cold water through Geysers. The rooms have big windows with a good view of outside. We had experienced a scenic & wonderful view of the hills sitting in the lawns in the morning and glittering Kurseong town in the night. With the permission of owner we plucked some guavas from the orchard. Oranges were just turning green, so we could not taste them. We could not roam the whole premises due to paucity of time. But we had a wonderful time there. At the time of our departure, Mrs. Gurung gave every member of our family a Gamocha & a packet of tea grown in their farm. We were overwhelmed by this gestures & felt like we are leaving our own family. If you are in Mirik, you can miss this at your own risk. Though it is some 4 Km downhill from Mirik Town, the rates offered for stay & the quality of food more than compensate it. You can never find such hospitality in a Hotel. My whole journey was arranged by Mr. Tirthankar & the driver, his friend itself belonging to the same village was very polite. We will love to come back again. I recommend this Homestay to everyone visiting Mirik.

I traveled with my family and stayed at Rodhi Ghar Home Stay in the month of October 2015 during the Durga Pujas. Before traveling, we had heard about this Homestay from various traveler reviews, which was quite good. We had apprehensions initially as this was our first experience in a homestay. However, after reaching this place, which is a few kms from Mirik, in Mirik Busty, we fell in love with the place and the total experience. The home stay is located in a very scenic hilltop, surrounded by nature, with all its fragrance and beauty. We found, it is one of the best view point in an around Mirik, of all the popular view points that are there in Mirik. Right from the start of our journey, we found a very enthusiastic and informative person in Tirthankar Gurung, who supported us and guided us with lots of local information and contacts. On reaching this new home of ours for four days in the midst of the Himalayas, we were greeted by Tirthankar and his family who runs and maintains this homestay, with a lot of warmth. Throughout our stay in Rodhighar, we were treated as guests in their home and were introduced to their various festivals(Dashain) and cultural practices, which was very unique. My kid had a nice playground to play around and my wife and my mother enjoyed the peace of the place with occasional trips to nearby places in car arranged by Tirthankar.. We had very delicious organic veg food prepared from their own farm. The food experience was enhanced with frequent treats of fresh tea from their own garden.. The homestay Cottage interiors were very nicely built with a touch of elegance. It was very clean and well kept, with all modern facilities. We were treated with a hospitality which was customized to our needs, which made us feel very special during our stay at their home. An experience which will be in our minds of years. While returning back from Rodhighar we were honored with Khada and gifted with Tea packs from their own garden. The entire family came down to say good bye to us, and we had to start our return journey with a heavy heart as our vacation was over in this heaven on earth. Love to come back again to this place.

During our Darjeeling-Sikkim trip Rodhi Ghar Homestay was the first place where we stayed. And it was the best. It is located outside of Mirik on a hillslope. The family is amazing and gave us a warm welcome with a nice cup of tea in the garden. They run a small farm there with a cow and lovely orchard and vegetable garden. The guest rooms are in a separate house with a nice terrace. Food is served in the family kitchen. The food was wonderful, vegetarian and extremely tasty. Our little son, 2 years old, loved roaming around and exploring the place, highly recommended for families and others who love peaceful places. Thanks a lot, Trithankar & family!

After reaching Mirik bazar (08/12/12) by shared car , we met Mr Trithankar Gurung (prearranged) who took us in his car for the next 3 km downslope. RODHIGHAR Homestay--it really touched our heart on first sight. Trithankar himself, his parents are very nice and simple persons. The room they alloted for us is really fantastic. We experienced camp fire in that eve, while sharing our views, cultures among us. The dinner, next morning breakfast and lunch--all were equally good. Mrs Gurung prepared so much veg items for us, we couldn't expect. And all the vegetables are of their own farm, even the dairy products. On that morning we experienced a beautiful sunrise from the lawn, and next to that we were just spell bound-- going in the Orange Orchards. Hundreds of Oranges were 'blown' in the garden-- we plucked a few & tasted too-- just awesome. At the time of our return Mrs Gurung honoured us by giving Khada and Oranges of their own farm. This was a real homestay feeling-- and I request everyone to experience such feelings. Mr Trithankar (7679344729) is a responsible, helpful, young guy --we promised him to come there again.
