We absolutely hated it!! Firstly its not entirely the hotels fault. Mount Abu in itself turned out to be a disappointment. It was over crowded, dirty, polluted and just horrible. We found it hard to breathe and just couldnt let go and enjoy ourselves. The hotel looks nice from outside. And thats about it. We entered and no one was around, a man arrived, grabbed our luggage and walked off without saying anything. We aasumed we had to follow him but he just climed up the steps. When we got to the top floor we saw 4 maybe 5 doors (bedroom style) and realised one was ours. Kids came screaming past rudely and that was a bit annoying. We entered a old fashioned room which was over stuffed with furniture, too many pictures on the wall with no theme at all. The bed was large but the bedding was terrible and seemed old. The room and decore in itself is old fashioned. The room and bathroom are large and spacious but in desperate need of some kind of refurbishment. There is a hot water system that you need to turn on 15min prior but its useless as the water switches from hot to cold randomly. We were told that the manager was out and would check us in when he arrived. All of a sudden he arrived and gave us a very intrusive form to fill in. I did not find some of the questions their business so left them blank. We were asked what we wanted for dinner. Basically they have a simple menu you order from, they go shopping, buy the ingredients and make the meal. This was nice and food was decent enough. We ordered, had a tea and wanted to get out. We visited a temple and came back. One of the staff members was kind enough to drive us to the temple and pick us up again. There is only 1 ATM in town which caters for overseas bank cards, this was a nightmare to find.....but he did help us alot in order to find it. Dinner was served on a large common dining table, food was fair but unenjoyable because no one talks to you at all, staff were unfriendly and just started at us with dull dead face expressions. There was no communication at all unless they wanted to know if we wanted more of something. There was another family (the ones whos kids were annoying ) occupying the other rooms. The kids ran round and round from room to room and also circling our table as we ate, it was very annoying for us as we couldnt enjoy our meal nor even talk to each other because they were screaming and shouting and stomping on the wooden floorings. We asked them to stop twice but they didnt. We hoped their parents or hotel staff would intervene but no one did. (This is mostly the familys fault and not hotels). We went back to our room and started looking for other places to move into,if possible that evening itself. Nothing was avaliable so we contacted our hotel back in Udaipur, where we had driven up from to ask if they could accomodate us back, they agreed. It was midnight and the kids and family were talking and laughing really loud and running up and down the wooden hallways. They showed no consideration for anyone else in the hotel and we hoped it would be managed better by the staff but noone seemed to really care. We were really upset. We did not sleep all night. The next morning there was no hotwater, even though we allowed the water heater 30minutes to heat up. It was pretty cold and a warm/hot shower would have been nice if available. We packed up and left this place as early as possible in the morning even though our reservation was for 2 days. We never asked for a refund or complaint we just wanted to get out. This was the most horrible experiences for us. Extremely disappointing because the property has great reviews (which is why we chose it). The hotel is in desperate need of renovation and staff just need to come across alot more welcoming and friendly.

Really a different and memorable experience. We were 3 couples traveling together. The staff made us feel like family. It's a heritage place, so be ready for a few glitches that accompany an old place in a hilltop town - like antique shower plumbing, some cold drafts on the dining room. Just close the curtains and ask them to light a fire!

Amazing place with fine decor n great ambience. Room was amazing plus view was greater especially in the early mornings. Peaceful n serene,a place to let go of everything n to just blend in with nature. Dining was a grand affair with the best poha I have ever had in Rajasthan. Staff is courteous n ever willing to assist in any way. I would definitely return but for more days, worth the long drive from Jaipur.

This should be one of the best stays among Mt Abu home stays. Very near to the centre still on top of a small hill and peacefully secluded .lot of staff but in the background 2 halls 1 dining 1 reception area and 2 bedrooms makes up the ground floor area and remaining 4 the 1st floor..there's one bedroom as an annexe too majorly rooms are suite and of course all with attached bath . Rooms are grand huge with all antique furniture. Best was the home cooked food made for our group of 25, the menu was, way we wanted and decided they make rajasthani northindian chinese all kind of food..lovely stay for big families or friends with groups..lot of space for extra beds. Daily services was like hotels. Will repeat soon.

You can ask for food at 2AM, and they deliver. Menu can be customized for breakfast, lunch and dinner but must be communicated the prior day. Awesome hospitality, amazing food and they setup a nice bonfire and food/drinks table in the evening (you provide your own beverages based on your preference). Accommodations are clean and the views are beautiful.
