good hostel if you are coming from or going to the airport otherwise the location of the hostel is not that great there's not a lot of place to eat nearby takes about 1hour or more to get to interesting spots in mumbai can't drink beer at the hostel, which kinda s*cks temple next to the hostel starts chanting and playing the drums at 8am (so get good earplugs) staff is great and friendly beds and bathrooms are clean bottles of water are 2 times more expensive (so don't buy them there)

I have heard the name Backpacker Panda from many travelers who stayed at the hostel that I was helping to run. Probably I have heard good things NOT about the Mumbai one! I came here with a lot of expectation. This was the first hostel I have ever stayed in India other than the one I was working for. Maybe due to the comforts I used to enjoy at the other hostel, Backpacker Panda Mumbai wasnt very welcoming! I was initially thinking of staying there for two night, but as soon as i got settled down, I've decided not to extend my stay. I can understand that accommodation prices in Mumbai can be high, but what I had to pay for a hostel was high. I chose this place due to three reason. 1. I wanted to stay in a hostel 2. I was reaching around Midnight. 3.I wanted a place that is near to the airport Yes, it is closer to the airport, yes there was a security guy available at midnight to check me in and show me the room. But the high price for the hostel didn't include breakfast. Room wasnt great. Maybe I sounded like complaining too much, its just that I didn't like the place somehow! So in short I wouldn't stay here again!

Me and my other half stayed there for 2 nights and we loved it the lady and the gentleman at the reception were very helpful , helped us booking the taxis and sort our tickets out for our next journey, also they were very friendly and smiley . I like the fact we had lockers under the bed however what I disliked its the fact some of their stuff could walk in and out when they want also couldn't trust their food as i've seen a rat run passed me within the building complex.

If you are a female traveler, avoid this place at any cost. The owner/manger of the property is rude, aggressive & judgemental. You ll feel like you are in a moral prison & feel obligated to submit to such rules and regulations which you find absurd. Dont be surprised if you are yelled at by the security guard or abused by the manger if you try to complain about anything. He is going to make your stay difficult & not pleasant at all. Me and my friends all had a traumatising experience during our one day stay & eventually ended up abandoning our stay and moved to a better hostel. I suggest you also note, that all the good ratings are given by one time users, focus more on reviews given by legit users. Also, if you are planning on staying awake at night, be ready to face a hard time by the guard.

We stayed at Panda for 3 days, had good facilities however the WiFi on the second floor didnt seem to work, but when you chilled on the roof top, which is spectacular, it was fine. Bring your own lock for lockers, and if you need a auto driver to take you there, specify Chakala Metro station. Its 15 min from the airport. Block just behind the packers you are spoiled for food choices including a supermarket.
