Few visitors to Kerala stop in Adimali, but rather whiz through on their way from Kochi (100 kms) to Munnar (30 kms). Adimali is in a mountainous spice growing area. It is a small, local town without the touristy trappings of Munnar. Aswathy Tourist Home is located on the north side of the main road into town coming from Kochi. Rooms are fairly basic and quite cheap, but clean and quiet as they are set back from the road. Restaurants and shops are all very near. The owner, Francis Joseph, speaks good English. He also offers accommodation at his brand new "Garden Breeze" Homestay nearby. He is willing to show visitors around the local area which includes trekking to tribal villages, spice gardens, waterfalls and elephant rides. I can recommend this as an interesting stop on travels in Kerala to see things which most travelers pass by too quickly.
