We loved our stay here. Everyone we had dealings with were absolutely delightful, passionate about nature and the environment and incredibly helpful and informative. The rooms were lovely, the walks gorgeous and the food delicious.

We had a wonderful stay at EcoTones. Reception was good, as well as the rooms. The rooms were a bit humid however (but this can be expected in jungle surroundings) and acoustics weren't great. Perfect cleanliness though! The real highlights of this place are the great staff, who treat you very personally. Everyone is involved in the stay, extremely helpful, friendly and attention to details. The food is another highlight: traditional, home cooking, very varied and every night a buffet style. The garden in the hotel is very well maintained, nice flowers and lots of birds. Activities were nice (walks around the premises), but due to weather conditions, more extended walks were not possible. Munnar city is quite far (1 hour), but if you know this beforehand, this shouldnt be a problem. Overall a very good price/quality experience; recommended!

There is lot one can say about Ecotones as this place as it offers something for everyone. Here are a few of my favourites! The Stay: The Superior Cottage was very spacious and modern. Mud house was quaint and is modelled after tribal huts. Loved the interiors! We spent a lot of time on the porch with chai and snacks and watching the mist roll in.. The view from the rooms is just awesome! The feeling of living inside a forest - The owners are truly nature loving for this place is in total harmony with nature. I felt as though I lived inside a forest for 2 days; but with modern amenities ;). Food & the wonderful staff - The food was just brilliant and fresh. They source vegetables and fish and eggs from their organic farm. The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. They organized the travel from the resort to the hills of Neelakurunji. The walkway to our cottage - the arch is full of beautiful flowers and when you walk under it, you hear the buzz of thousands of bees. When you sit under the arch and look up, you see red flowers and all that green and sunlight filtering through.. Ah Heavenly..

We stayed here for 2 nights on our trip to Kerala. Located some 4+ hours from Kochin near Munnar, it is an eco friendly resort focusing on providing a unique experience of the surrounding area. We stayed in one of the cottages. Rooms are basic and have a good en suite wetroom. Various activities are available to get a taste of local culture and see the flora and fauna. There are numerous varieties of birds and butterflies to see as well as the local spices growing. Lunch and buffet dinner are provided and this focuses on getting a full taste of Kerala cuisine with most food sourced from their own farm. They are gluten free aware so this is not a problem. The water is from their own tanks and is purified here and has different spices added on a daily basis. Staff are all very friendly and mainly from the local community. This is a unique experience not for those that want luxury but aimed at those wanting to get a closer feel for nature.

I stayed here for two days as part of my Kerala trip. The place is a bit small with just a few cottages and villas and approx 45 min from Munnar/approx 20 min from more commonly used hotels but since its a rather new resort its very beautiful and well maintained and a hidden secret - its in a village which also maintains the authenticity of the whole experience. The small size also means there are not too many ppl in the resort at any time and there is a sense of calm and private space. The staff is very friendly and ever smiling and try to accommodate guests wishes. All dishes were made from vegetables grown in the damp and the food was super awesome. There is a small market nearby should you want to buy some snacks etc. We had a packed itinerary so didnt have time to use the activities organized by the resort but I totally loved the overall experience which is way better than staying in a normal 3 star hotel ( this place is easily a 4 star charged at 3 star prices because of its rather secluded location probably). It was a very safe place though. I would recommend this over typical 3-4 star hotels in the city any day!
