Reason For Rating : Grand plaza in Munnar having beautiful location and heart touching hospitality with good north indian food.I only stayed for 1 day which I enjoyed with full satisfaction.
by Chaitanya on Sep 26,2017
What's Good: Its mixed feelings , some aspects are good some arent . which i specified before
What needs to improve : Delivering the additional packages which they offer
Reason For Rating : I stayed in grand plaza in munnar , i asked for a honeymoon package which was shown in the segment . Hotel has been very good so were the staff there .But the extra package which was offeered to me werent delivered as for my satisfaction . Wedding cake which was promised wasnt delivered at all . Bed which has been promised to be arranged wasnt arranged until i asked for , even after that they made me and my wife to sit in lobby for 1 hr in cold chilly night . I felt hotel is good to stay , but the extra packages and so on they lack the expertise to deliver those . So next time when customers were given those options they should be totally sure

What's Good: Location and cleanliness
What needs to improve : packed breakfast service should improve
Reason For Rating : It was a wonderful stay at Grand Plaza Munnar. The Hotel has a good location and yummy breakfast. Thanks to the team to give me a upgrade to the suite facing the riverside. Just one thing made me upset. In the morning i checked out before breakfast time and the Hotel gave me packed breakfast which was unfit to eat. It has frozen sandwiches which became soggy and the fruits which they gave were also out of cold storage. Frozen like ice and when it melted it was only rubbish to throw away. I left the Hotel at 6 am and i think it was not too early and some small cooked warm breakfast could be provided. Rest was all fine

Stayed at Grand Plaza for 2 days and really enjoyed the peaceful stay here.Rooms are nice. The staff is very kind and cooperative. One should not miss one of the main attractions of the hotel which is the morning walk with Mr Balaji. You can get the chance to know the actual Munnar and get connected with the place. Had an amazing experience and would like to visit soon again.

Awesome experience at grand plaza.. one should not miss the tea over here. One of the speciality about this place is that it is peaceful, large windows to see the view and morning walks. Here you ll come to know so many things about munnar during morning walk. You ll be able to go in between tea plantations which are private property but hotel manager will take you through all these view and have tea from village who works at these tea plantations. Mornings are very pleasant at the hotel and staff is very cooperative. Overall awesome to go there and talk.

We are a Malaysian Chinese couple in our early 60s. We had stayed in this hotel 1st time in 2015 for 2 nights. This revisit we stayed 3 nights from 3 to 6 Sep 2018.( I requested my Kochi travel agent to change his proposed hotel to Grand Plaza Hotel as we had great experience in 2015). We came for the 12-year-bloom-once Neelakurinji at Eravikulam National Park at Munnar Hill. Do google this incredible wild flowers. We did get to see the early blooming of Neelakurinji at Eravikulam National Park on Tue 4 Sep 2018. The mass blooming was delayed because of the continuous 2-week heavy rain in Aug 2018. We are grateful to have seen some bushes in full bloom. They are as resilient as the Munnar Hill people. The blooming should be more intense by the days. We hope to see the blooming again in 2030 in better times. We met Mr Balaji, GM of this hotel when we checked in. We had a great conversation. This 2nd stay was more memorable because of Mr Balaji. He has this 6.30am morning walk to the nearby tea plantation. We did with Mr Balaji on 5 Sep 2019 morning. Beautiful sunny day. Saw many birds. Mr Balaji gave great elaboration of the birds we encountered, the tea plantation history and the tea plantation community and whatever we had encountered he had some interesting tales to share. We saw the female tea pickers young and old walking uphill with their trade tools, children going to schools, the guard with a stick at the tea plantation junction entrance ( casual visitors like us would not be allowed to access the tea plantation without Mr Balaji who has a social programme with the Tea Plantation community ), the auto rickshaws carrying school children, the community houses, the cows, the ducks, etc. It was a great experience for city folks like us. The stay at Grand Plaza Hotel comes with breakfast. We had all our dinners at the hotel. Beautiful foods. Nice and friendly staff. Comfortable room. We had a Muslim restaurant ( Ali Baba & 41 Dishes ) lunch about 1 km from the hotel. Good spicy hot meals.Do try it when in Munnar Hill. If you stay at Grand Plaza Hotel, you must make an effort to join Mr Balaji for this beautiful and memorable morning walk. I hope visitors would be assured that it is safe to visit Munnar Hill even in the early days ( Mon 3 Sep 2018 ) after the Aug 2018 severe flood. My tribute to the resilience and great teamworks of Munnar Hill community to make Munnar reachable so quickly after the severe flood. Thank you Mr Balaji and the Munnar folks. We wish you the best.

We stayed here for 3 days and i must say we were highly satisfied with the hotel. The people at the hotel are very very friendly and always ready to serve you better. The rooms were quite comfortable and spacious. The food was good, though there is definitely room for improvement especially the Breakfast menu and availability. The in-house travel service provided by the hotel staff was good and their guidance about the local touristic neighborhood was really helpful. Another noteworthy highlight of the stay was the morning walks. We learned and experienced a lot about Munnar and its native peoples. A walk among the woods and tea-estates early morning was refreshing (which i heard was restricted only for the tea-estate workers and the hotel had special permission to access the estates for the walks). Finally the welcome drink "The Munnar special Chai" is definitely worth mentioning.

Excellant Hotel. In All Aspects. Food. Rooms. Location. Budget. Ambience. STAFF.. we travelled to this hotel during Kerala flood 2018. Thats when we realized what a class these human beings are. Even though full town was flooded. Their staff quater fully submerged. Still they made us comfortable in every aspect and didnt stop servicing us. I have seen hotels abandoning customers. Not this one though. I going again.
