What's Good: Landspace, view and service
What needs to improve : Route to the resort
Reason For Rating : Had a wonderful stay here. Pros: The landscape is so picturesque and beautiful. Fairly stocked room amenities. Food is fairly good too and decent options. Staff are friendly and helpful. Cons: Rooms need a bit of refurbishment especially the doors. PS: The is a road restoration work going on. So the roads to resort is blocked between 8 am till 7 pm. Plan your visit accordingly. However there is an alternative route. The hotel staff assisted us with the alternative route.

What's Good: Resort is in between forest and deep valley.
What needs to improve : Food quality can be improved and resort Villas and gardens can be maintained more.
Reason For Rating : Hotel is good but can be maintained more, overall experience is fine. Food quality is good but some times it has not been cooked well. Spa rates are much higher in comparison to other spa centres.

What's Good: Good , but rooms are small, ideal for 2 people, if you go with kids, not suitable.
by Bharan Nagesh on Aug 18,2014
What's Good: Hotel food quality is average. Good in starters but rice items are really bad. No tandoor items available, that is also one drawback.
by Mr. Rajesh S on Apr 18,2014
What's Good: There is road work going on near the hotel. This make our travel very difficult. We have to park the car on road and travel by foot to the hotel. This is approximately 1 KM. with steep gradient. With 2 kids this is a terrible experience. The switches in the room are not user friendly. In future please also consider the infrastructure readiness before providing the options to a family

One of the most peaceful and full of nature places we have stayed. You feel like living in the dense jungle. The rooms are extremely good. Simple and tasteful. The whole staff is a group of beautiful people. Front desk staff is one of the best team I have ever met. They are educated, caring and proactive. The food is just good. Restaurent team makes you feel at home. The best part is that it is not located in the clumsy Munnar town but away. Someone who built it was sensible enough not cut the trees to clear the views from windows. Because you have a 1 minute walk and can reach to the edge of the hill that opens to a beautiful valley. I have added pictures of that view. One must start from Munnar town before 4pm. As the direct road is being widened so during the day it closed and we need to go via optional road. And whereas the optional road it's a beautiful drive, it goes slower and sometimes lonely for long patches. Also one must speak to the hotel management before starting and understand the directions carefully. People on the way know it though. Just tell them it's on 'Chinnakanal road' and they will guide you in case you are lost on the way. It's a must to be place if someone travelling towards Munnar.

We booked 2 nights at Great Escapes in a deluxe double room. Initially we were very disappointed with the room and we're told that there was no other room available. I am happy to say that the Manager arranged for us to be relocated to one of the cottages at the resort for the second night. This was very comfortable and spacious and more than made up for the disappointment of the previous evening. The grounds and gardens of this hotel are very beautiful and set in the cool mountain air. We regretted not having enough time to explore properly and enjoy the view. Food was also very good and the staff all very helpful. Thanks to Great Escapes for putting things right!

If anyone like us likes Nature, valley, mountain and morning mist than he/she will surely like this place which is far from the Munnar town. One can consider that as a negative point but if it's a relaxation or romantic trip than this will add a new blend to complete the trip. Their Heritage Cottages are superb and well maintained. We spent 2 nights there and we enjoyed a lot. It is a Romantic Gateway to Peace and Nature.

We stayed for two nights and were booked by our travel agent. It is billed as a 'romantic getaway' and you would have to be feeling very romantic as there is nothing at all to do at the hotel, no cafe, no alcohol, no facilities and it is miles from anywhere. There is no information about local wildlife or walks in the area so we felt trapped there. The restaurant, for dinner and breakfast, is indoors with no windows to enjoy the views which is odd as the views are the only selling point of this hotel. The food was very good but there is no ambience in the restaurant and people seem to eat quickly and leave. The rooms are dark and some of the furniture was broken. The site is very steep and not suitable for anyone with walking difficulties. The worst thing about this hotel was the music from the resort next door. Loud, club style music which started before 7 am and went on until late evening. We spoke to management about it but we were told there was nothing they could do. It felt like the resort next door had a vendetta against Great Escapes and was trying to alienate their guests, which worked as we certainly wouldn't consider going back.

This hotel is far from the Main city in the Mountains. The location is very good surrounded by Greens. The place is difficult to locate and the road to reach is ausome. They use thar to drop guests to and fro Room to Reception. Food was average but like the stay.
