What's Good: Instead of calling it as a hotel, I would rather call it rather a Home away from home. The location is excellent (10 Km away from Munnar - On Cochin- Munnar road). Very neat and clean rooms as well as bathrooms. Bed sheets, towels provided by them are very clean. We stayed in Room 31 & 35 which had excellent view. The foods are cooked by the owner's wife and very good in taste (less oil & masala). The attendant Santosh is always ready help you with a big smile. Strongly recommend this hotel.

What's Good: The place was amazing..Sally has been so kind in showing us her garden. They have a marvellous garden and so well maintained. Santosh has been very helpful and always with a big smile. This place is worth a revisit just for its splendid location, if u are a nature lover, and very good and friendly people.. highly recommended...

Green shades is a wonderful place to stay for families. They have quite comfortable rooms and a very lovely garden. If you have arrangements for food, then this is an apt place away from the madness of the town. A caretaker is always ready for any help.
Homely Luxury Place in Munnar
by Sayeedind on
Host: The family and support staff treat you as a part of their family and ensures doable requests are accomodated. Do connect with them directly to know more of the property. Location : It's located 12 kms away from the main Munnar town, the location is good with Cinnamon Plantation. The distance from the town helps th families to spend quite time away from a packed & crowded town. Rooms: These are independent cottage and we had cottage with a private large balcony for Family and Kids to spend time in evenings and night. Each room had either a good view of plantation and hills. Rooms with large bathroom are clean and maintenance is take care. Food: Do have an option of using the Kitchen with dining seperate area. If lazy to cook you have a good idea restaurant in about 500 mts distance.

It is a beautiful property, far from the town and all the busyness. You truly get the feeling of staying in the lap of the nature. The gardens and plants are very well maintained. There is no reception, no security guard (I dont think they need one). But for all your needs and queries, there is one very interesting personality, who takes care of everything, Mr. Santosh. He prepares very delicious food, typical kerala style but we being punjabis, just loved it. We ordered chicken curry for dinner and it was finger licking fantastico. All in all, if you are looking for a for not so luxurious stay but a great experience all together, then this place is not to be missed.

Lovely and Appealing place: Green Shades
by ManishP92 on
I happen to start of my honeymoon with a stay in Munnar this january and we were given Green shades as a part of our package . The location of this homestay was very appealing and very peaceful, .located on the highway and 10- kms away from the bustling town of Munnar. This homestay is run by a family(George) with rooms behind their residence admist the peaceful and serene woods and next to his spice plantation.. We felt like staying there for more days giving up on rest of the places.. it was very peaceful and beautiful that i lack words to express .. Santosh the caretaker a warm and wonderful person took care of all our needs and was readily available at a shout at any time of the day if we happen to need anything. The rooms were very spacious and very clean with attached balacony and very clean bathroom The breakfast served by Santosh was really mouthwatering and lipsmacking and was beautiful presented with different type of dishes each day Green shades was the best thing that happen to us on our trip to kerala...and if given a chance we are surely coming back for a longer stay
