My friend and I stayed here for two nights and had such a wonderful experience. We actually felt like we were members of the family. They were all so kind and welcoming and the traditional Indian breakfasts were some of the best meals we had. The location is a short drive from the center of town giving you a more local experience. The center of town is pretty chaotic and all the accommodations we saw there looked a little rough, so you probably wouldn't want to stay in the center anyway. Highly recommend staying at Mangalappillil Homestay!

We stayed 3 nights in the homestay and everyone took very good care of us. The owners are super friendly and helped us to arrange everything. The place is in Anachal, a very beautiful valley close to Munnar but without all the noise and pollution. The room was clean and spacious with big terrace and the breakfast really tasty. We went for a walk every evening in the villages.

This is a wonderful homestay. From arrival to check out, we felt most welcomed by our hosts. Although it is somewhat a long way from Munnar, it is still conveniently located to enjoy the sights around Munnar. I'd say the only downside of staying there is the restaurants available for lunch and dinner: except Alaska at The Fog Resort (very good but expensive), the other restaurants are very few and of average to low quality. But it's a choice we didn't regret considering the peace and silence we couldn't have enjoyed in Munnar itself. The room and bathroom are spacious enough and very clean and the common areas (including a kitchen) are quite large. As for the homemade breakfast, it was heaven: tasty Keralan food that mostly varied from day to day. Wifi is also very good, even much better than what we experienced in other Indian homestays. This homestay is a wonderful choice, highly recommended. The price is higher than other towns, but the quality is there and all accommodations in or around Munnar seem to be more expensive than elsewhere in India.

Super hosts, what a wonderful friendly family. The room was very clean and bed very comfy. There is a kitchen in case you need it. The mum cooks a delicious breakfast each morning, but they dont serve lunch or dinner at the property. There is a good restaurant 2 mins walk away called Mummys and Daddys. The homestay is 10 km before munnar, and a tuktuk costs around 250 - 400 rupees depending on time of day. Only negative is the shower kept running hot and cold but no biggie. Perfect place to stay.

Rooms were very clean. Owners were very friendly and helped to visit places nearby. Breakfast was very tasty and provided on requested time. Wifi, tv, hot water, car parking were available. We enjoyed the homestay to the best.
