I had planned to stay at Mistletoe for 2 nights, ended up staying for 4. Both Joe and Jeena took great care of me, and were attentive. Despite the fact it was raining hard, and there were landslides they helped organize some trips and even a small trek, after taking all precautions of course. Joe and Jeena are both great cooks! and prepare the food themselves. I had some amazing fish, and chicken traditional Kerala dishes here. I would also say that now that the floods are receding please do not be fearful, and go ahead and stay here. Mistletoe is at an in between location much before Munnar main town. and is constructed at a very safe location where no flood or landslide can impact it. Coming from someone who stayed here during peak Kerala rains last month :-)

One of our distinguished guest from Denmark visited this property during Jan this year. The elderly couple was so impressed about this property that they promised to come back later this year. The merits are Best location, Amenities, Food and a very warm welcome and care from the family.

Before I share my own experience, let me just make it very clear that yes it's a homestay and yes it's run by house members but it doesn't lack any of its charm or beauty or luxury due to this. We, a family of 6, reached there in the evening and it was heavily raining and to my surprise Mrs. Johnson herself came out with umbrellas for us to receive ( She did the same when we were leaving). Then we got served with delicious welcome drink and hot aromatic towels. Each room has an amazingly beautiful view with a very nice and comfy balcony. The bathrooms are very clean and beautifully decorated. Every single food what we ordered there in 2 days was good. The breakfast menu is wholesome and very yummy. Their tea and coffee are good as well with the tastiest cookies. I got very much help with baby food and other requirements for my 2 year old kid and thanks a ton to Prakash; their help, for that. Also, I liked their crockery collection, each one of them. There is just one suggestion, that there should be an intercom facility so that some elderly guests would be more relaxed. To sum it up, all I would say is if you are visiting Munnar, stay in Mistletoe and I am sure you won't want to leave the room even for sightseeing. Thanks to the team of Mistletoe for making our stay pleasantly unforgettable one.

There is a reason this place is highly rated on Trip Advisor and after staying for 3N/4D at this amazing homestay, we completely vogue for the same. Its a fantastic places nestled into nature away from the buzz of Munnar Town! Jo is a fantastic host who will share all the knowledge he has and arrange everything that you need. One may find the food to be pricey but believe me its not. The juices you get are of fresh fruits from the farms, so are the most of the items on the menu. Everything is fresh and super delicious! We tried the steamed Kingfish in banana leaf, Chicken in Green curry, Kerala rice & Dal Palak... all of them highly recommended. We are big time into exploring nature with bird-watching as our hobby and we could easily spot as well as capture a good number of species right from their balcony and by spending sometime around the property. The kind of views you get from the balcony are just mesmerising, a lot of times better than what you will get from the famous viewpoints around Munnar. I will let the images do the talking here :-) . If interested to know more, one can read my complete trip reports on my website (address is in the images) One of the finest homestays we have visited for sure, keep up the great work Jo & team. Will surely be visiting again :-)
