We stayed with our three kids at the Royal Mist mid September 2018 for a week. We had considered canceling the trip following the recent Kerala floods, but we were so glad we didn't. Not only because of the beauty of Munnar, which had already recovered from the floods by the time we arrived, but also because Jeeva and Anil are the kindest, most hospitable couple you could ever meet. We chose to eat at the homestay every day as no restaurant could compare to Jeeva's cooking. The location is excellent, only a short walk from tea plantations with stunning views, and every recommendation they gave, or driver/trek they organized for us was spot on. We learnt quickly to take their advise about what to do. But the most remarkable part of the stay for us was when our youngest daughter required medical attention following a mishap while sightseeing, Anil came to our rescue, insisting on driving us to a hospital several hours away and even stayed the night, driving us back the next morning. We were left speechless by their caring generosity and cannot recommend them warmly enough.

My sister and I traveled through Kerala before attending a friend's wedding in Hyderabad. We read so many great things about Munnar so we wanted to experience it but we also wanted to be off the beaten path. Royal Mist is perfect for that because it is easy to take the public bus into Munnar town but the homestay's location is quiet, peaceful, and scenic. Since dinners are not included, we decided to add them and we were not disappointed. The food is incredible and the service is excellent. We ate outside in the covered dining area where we watched the rain fall and enjoyed the serenity. Jeeva and Anil are wonderful hosts and we especially loved playing with their pug, Ricky. We trekked through nearby cardamom and tea plantations with Anil where we saw huge jackfruit. We really enjoyed this experience. We were supposed to go trekking the next day with a tour guide based out of Munnar but I became sick so we had to cancel- Jeeva went out of her way to make sure I was taken care of. She brought up ginger tea and oral rehydration tablets another traveler left behind. I was touched by her thoughtfulness- but that is the kind of hospitality and warmth you will find at Royal Mist. We highly recommend this homestay to anyone traveling to the Munnar region!

What a memorable experience of a lifetime it was. We stayed at this beautiful home for four nights and we really enjoyed it. We took cooking classes. Highly recommended:) The hosts Anil and Jeeva who were knowledgeable and charming really took care to talk to all of us and make sure everyone was happy. This is a perfect place to spend a few days to relax and we felt we would have enjoyed another night or two. If we are in Kerala again we will definitely come back.

Clean and comfortable with charming and welcoming hosts. Enjoyed meals outside on the terrace in the evenings and our cooking lesson! Visited on the recommendation of my brother and his family who were there the previous year.

Having been travelling with friends around India (May 2018), we picked here on the basis of some excellent tripadvisor reviews and were not disappointed. The homestay itself is tucked into the side of the hill and has some great views from the verandah and a short walk away. The welcome walk was amazing, with incredible views of the valley and the nearby tea and spice plantations (They can also arrange a longer and slightly more strenous walk nearby). Highly recommended, if you are looking to stay in Munnar, stay here!
