The whole holiday is ruined because of the hotel staff - 1. Drinking water stinks, no bisleri is provided in the room even after paying such a hafty room charges 2. The restraunt food is pathetic, when complained to manager he started smilling and didnt bother to listen 3. The hotel receptionist was so rude when we asked for the places to visit she was not interested in telling.

We stayed at the panoramic gateway in December 2018 for a family holiday. This hotel has very comfortable rooms with all modern amenities. Their toiletries are of a premium make. They take the extra effort of keeping their 4 year old property absolutely neat and clean. The quality of the bed is comfy and linen is crisp and clean. 5 stars for that. The room service is also quick and staff are quite polite. They have 2 restuarants the underground and the foodsense. We ate Indian and Chinese at the foodsense which was very tasty. The buffet breakfast was served at foodsense though not very elaborate but sufficient options. As a vegetarian there were no options for cakes and savouries, though the staff made some eggless cupcakes the next day. The hotel has 2 wonderful heated swimming pools which we enjoyed. The view from the balconies was amazing. The only hitch I experienced was the distance from Munnar town which is 12 kms. from the hotel. Since Munnar is at a higher altitude it enjoys a cooler weather than this location.

To give you context to my review, I am someone who a) doesnt usually feel the need to review and b) has accepted that I might be a little difficult due to my unforgiving high-end expectations. Its worth pointing out that (a) and (b) correlate as my expectations should match what Im giving in return and if that result is met then all to the good - therefore Im only likely to review when feedback can aid in improvements being made. However, for the very first time I feel compelled to communicate with you a totally different mis-match of expectations; one so far to the other side of the spectrum that it takes some virtuous miracle for me to fathom any less than a 5* review on this resort: and yes, I have taken the time to read most of the reviews on here and there are a lot - 483 and counting. I address a few key markers when deciding on the rating of a resort in this order: 1) Customer Service & Experience 2) The Room 3) The Food. If the scale was out of 5 (being outstanding) then each of these elements scored a minimum of double that - I know it sounds cliche but writing a justification will not serve enough for you and my admiration for this resort is to be shared by experiencing for yourself. The only way to phrase this is to say that my explanation above is congruous with my observation during the entire 4 nights. The only sad reality now is comprehending where to set the bench mark on accommodation sites as this has officially blown me away in impressiveness compared to any other resort in the world - I have stayed in more than 200+ resorts for work. From the staff who have treated me not only to make me feel special but inherently knew exactly the way I wanted to feel like family (not everyones cup of tea I get but they will adapt to your needs), to the design, cleanliness and order of the room, and to the delicious and exquisite food and choices (The Underground is a certain future winner of culinary stars especially its grill food - being a Londoner I should know). Additionally and not to forget the Spa massage that was incredible and professionally understanding my needs and luring me into a world that does not exist and that I didnt want to wake up from: it was simply bliss. I have purposely waited till now to share a special mention for two people: the owners, Bennett and Sona. I wont be able to go into the detail I would love to share about two of the most genuine, extraordinary and truly remarkable personalities I have ever met - and whilst you may not know me, I refer you back to my first few lines at the top, particular point (b) and my high expectations that should indicate that this is not lightly said. Both of them by now know just how we feel about them and there is a long term bond built already. Whichever way you end up getting to know them, please know that they are supreme leaders of running a super high end establishment where the building and their staff feel cherished / cared for and whilst they are incredibly busy they try as much as possible to be a presence on site and exude this warm infectious energy to all their customers respectively. A few reviews try to depict tales in otherwise laughable fashion and yet foolishly they have in my humble opinion made themselves to look rather daft. My praise can continue for days but only due to time constraints I will move on. One last note on Munnar. The views are simply stunning - check out a few photos I've uploaded. This accommodation is set in the perfect location for you to enjoy Munnar fully, no doubt about it. If you are lucky you will wake up early enough to see the beautiful sunrise PLUS get to hear not only the nature but the beautifully curated, almost spiritual surround-sound music echoing through the valleys from the distant temple. Now I have come to learn the true meaning of 'God's Own Country'. Finally, its worth thanking those of you who have taken the effort to read this review, as I understand I do come across quite literary - a result of my background I admit - but hope it provides suitable insight to those researching and deliberating where to stay... the simple answer: THE PANORAMIC GETAWAY! THE BEST RESORT IN MUNNAR!!!

Hotel amenities were tasteful and top-notch with lots of artful details such as a roof top infinity pool, garden on the third floor. Enjoyed an on-site Ayruvedic massage. Exceptional service. When I indicated that I enjoyed walking, the receptionist suggested I could join the owner's partner in the morning. We enjoyed it so much, I was offered and accepted a walk in the national forest later in the day. Finally, the food in the multicuisine restaurant was delicious

We spent only two nights here but we were very impressed by the facilities which include multiple restaurants, two pools and amazing views. The owner, Sonia, does all the planting for her amazing roof top garden and around the infinity pool. Her staff reacts very quickly. If we ever return to Munnar, this is where we will stay.
