We were diving in Murdeshwar and told about this very peaceful hotel at the end of the beach road. We were not disappointed. Its a very beautiful, well renovated local residence. So much effort has been put into the authentic decor. Our bedroom was very large and airy. Air conditioned with a ceiling fan, balcony that looked over to the beach. The en suite bathroom was very clean. It was an odd shape, but perfectly adequate, with a lovely drench shower and very hot water. Our hosts were delightful an could not do enough for us. As we had to leave by 7.30a.m. They arranged an early breakfast for us. Breakfast is normally 9.a.m. Evening meals were available, which were great for us as we didnt get back before 5.30p.m. The cooking was superb. Genuine home cooked Indian food at its very best. The fish was amazing. Thank you to for the okra. Fantastic! If you want total peace and quiet with a sea view, this is great. Murdeshwar is not the cleanest of places, fortunately this property is about a twenty minute walk along the beach from the main tourist attraction and is clean, but staying for any length time Im not sure would suit the western tourist. We would return.

In the one night that we stayed at Mavalli Beach Heritage Home, I felt a part of the family that owned it. When we first came the owners greeted us and we exchanged names. Then we went inside and we were offered a blue fizzy drink that tasted exactly like Haribo Gummy Bears (it was pretty good). When we walked into the room we were pleasantly surprised with a towel peacock on the bed with a Pear Soap Bar. But we were even happier when we saw that there were western seat toilets with both hand water spray and toilet paper. We freshened up and went downstairs to enjoy the beautiful weather. This is when I met the owner's two 5th and 6th grade kids. They offered to play Carrom, and I gladly accepted. We played for an hour or two, laughing the whole time and stealing each other's tokens. Guys, if you're reading this, G.G. Then we went to see the beautiful statue of Shiva, along with the statue of Ravana handing the Shiva Lingam to a boy and many others. When we came back, we had a delicious meal of rice, dal, chapatis, and salad with a bean and potato palya. The dish was utterly delicious. The chapatis and rice were cooked to perfection. The dal was rich and had a beautiful garlicky note, and was amazing with the spicy onions, tangy tomatoes, and crisp lettuce that formed the refreshing salad. The palya was amazing, barely spicy and slightly sweet, perfect for young children. And of course, we ordered a incredibly light sour curd to eat at the end (it was lip-smacking good). To any vegetarians, I highly reckoned this combination. We watched a bit of Tata Sky TV and then had a wonderful night of sleep. The location of the house was great because it was super quiet. In the morning we woke up well-rested. We all showered and even by the end of the last shower, the water coming was still warm. We went downstairs and had a wonderful breakfast of dosas and idlis with coconut chutney and vegetable sambar, along with bread with jam, honey, or butter, and fresh watermelon juice. It was divine. As we left, the owners gifted us a sky lamp and some fruits. We left very satisfied. Mavalli Beach Heritage Home, thank you for your hospitality.

On our tour we stayed here for one night, what a beautiful place to stay, the room we had was amazing with views of the temple and overlooking the sea. Dinner was prepared to our desire and was perfect. Breakfast was again good home style food.

Lovely and relaxing home stay. We thank Rajeshri, Devdas and family for opening up their home for us. It was a very peaceful stay with wonderful wholesome food. Must try is the tomato curry with seafood as a side, chicken ghee roast and wonderful pulses gravies. The homestay is beautiful in every aspect. They have lovely recommendations as well for any trips you plan around the area. We hope to visit again.
