When three friends decide to put life on hold and take a holiday to celebrate over 20 years of friendship, you would think nothing could top the moment than just being together. But we were wrong. Right from the moment we were ushered into JW Marriott Mussoorie Walnut Grove Resort & Spa to the moment we left, we were rendered speechless by the sheer dedication the hotel staff had to make us happy! After a quick check-in, we made our way to the room where we were greeted with a very fancy platter of cheese, chocolates and wine. We, of course, wasted no time in tucking into the goodies with no sense of remorse - after all, its a known fact that people do not put on weight on their birthdays and holidays. It took a moment for us to tear ourselves away from the food and explore the room. Needless to say, the view from the room of the mountain was nothing short of spectacular. The room also sported a massive king-size bed and all the amenities and fixings you could imagine. Drinks and bites at the in-house Trout House Grill & Bar while drawing much-needed heat from the bonfire was followed by a fabulous meal at Teppan, the Pan-Asian restaurant. All this was followed by a much-needed gossip session in the room balcony - everything was just perfect. And that was just day 1. Day 2 involved so much food at the breakfast buffet. I mean, from the quintessential mountain favourite Maggi to a humble but oh-so-delicious local stuffed poori, there was not a single thing we could think of that was missing. The sheer joy of gorging on this was accentuated by the genteel hotel staff who not only flitted about getting you coffee and more poori, they even took a moment to ask you where you are from and whether you are having a pleasant stay. And therein, I feel, lies the difference between a good hotel and a great hotel - one cannot put a price on being treated well by people around you. Wait, theres more At 8.45 am, day 3, we were whisked away to a breakfast spot that I can safely say most people have never had the pleasure of experiencing. A short walk down a path led by trusty hotel staff landed us bang in the middle of a pristine stream where a table with danish pastries, scones and cakes awaited us. This was followed by an elaborate breakfast that included the most divine upma, idli, bread-anda, poori sabzi, masala chai and of course coffee - there was so much food that I am sure I am forgetting a bunch of things. Once we finished stuffing ourselves to the hilt, the staff obliged us by taking pictures of ours in various ridiculous poses to our hearts delight. In retrospect, I almost feel sorry for the staff for having to bear with a gaggle of three overexcited women. I am going to stop here because I dont want all this gushing to seem at all fake. I promise you every word written is the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Thank you, everyone, at JW Marriot Mussoorie. And special thanks to Pratyush Mohapatra for arranging the experience by the stream. PS: THIS IS NOT A PAID POST

Manish is an awesome trek guide. We went to the Dalai hill through the pine forest. He found a beautiful spot and he cooked Maggi! It was such a fun experience! The resort is great with very friendly staff!

What added warmth to the salubrious climate of Mussoorie and Landour was hospitality of JWMWG. Beautiful location, amazing food and extremely hospitable staff. Adventure activities led by Manish and Roshan are must try whether it is trek to Pine Forest, Bird Sanctuary, Dalai Hills or by experiencing luxurious lunch by the Himalayan stream in the wilderness relishing finger smacking food by Chef Pratap. Thanks Sachin Mylavarapu and team for priceless Memories!
