We had a truly lovely stay the Gitanjsli homestay . A beautiful setting , very peaceful , lovely helpful staff all who were professional and friendly and we had extremely good food- we ate with the other guests and had lovely convivial evenings .Accommodation very comfortable and spotless . You may be 6km from centre of town but you are away from the hustle and bustle of Mysore in a glorious garden environment with lots of flowers and an abundance or birds . Nothing better that a G&T sitting on the verandah with only bird song to accompany your drink. Its easy , via the homestay to organise transport to get around Mysore . Highly recommended Sent from my iPhone

This is a family home with guest rooms off a verandah overlooking a large well kept garden. The rooms are large, the beds are very comfortable (the best in 6 eeeks) with high quality linens on the beds. The family join guests for pre dinner drinks and waste a fabulous source of information about Mysore, India and culture.

This was our first place to stay in India and offered the perfect start to our trip. Yamuna, her family and staff were fantastic hosts. The rooms were great and food amazing - catering to our quirks!! We loved dining and talking with the family and other travellers. I had a great Ayurvedic treatments una nearby centre and a yoga session on the porch!! All arranged by Yamuna. We would love to return here one day.

We had a wonderful two nights at Gitanjali; beautiful, peaceful location; spacious, clean and comfortable accommodation; delicious food! It was an unexpected pleasure to be welcomed into our hosts home for breakfast and dinner and to be treated to a wide array of local, fresh, home-cooked foods including string hoppers / nool puttu (we were fascinated by the ancient family heirloom brass nool puttu maker). Learning about the Coorg people, culture and cuisine was a delight. It was a privilege to meet Yamuna and her husband, who were so kind, warm and hospitable, and we would highly recommend Gitanjali to anyone visiting Mysore. The beautiful, quiet setting, comfortable accommodation, home cooked food and the warmth of the hospitality made for a winning combination.

A truly beautiful and tranquil place, the garden is wonderful and has been lovingly created and maintained to ensure anyone staying here is surrounded by colour and beauty. Our room was comfortable and the terrace and seating outside was perfect for relaxing and bird watching, we spent hours just doing that! Yamuna, her husband and father were perfect hosts and made us feel very welcome indeed. All the staff were courteous and friendly too. The food was excellent, all home made with an emphasis on organic, local produce using recepies from Yamuna's birthplace. I'm summary, my wife and I could not have asked for anything more, it was perfect! Thank you all for making it an unforgettable experience.
