  • Care to share some of your life's precious moments in Natures lap - A Beautifully landscaped and maintained Farm Land !

    by Unviaje_sunita on

We happened to come across Hill View Farms on the Net as we were planning for a trip to Mysore with some sight seeing and be sharing some part of the holiday at a quiet space with a different experience. Hill View Farm offered us an apt environment. A location just around the corner, 10-15 min from the main city of Mysore. The stay provides lovely fresh home cooked food, eco friendly stay with maximum utilization of natural resources like bio-gas set up, boiler system for water heating, fruits from the garden, having a cow shed (children would love to experience this), some amount of chicken farming (its a veggie place so this is strictly for care/pet ), pigeons and a few dogs being sheltered / kept as pets.Time away from TV & free wifi. Sugunan Sir & Geetha mam who run the place are very friendly and also have a cute and obedient Lab called Chotu - Adorable. The couple are doing a wonderful service by maintaining the place in a very natural way that we can enjoy being part of !!

  • Wonderful Homestay in Chikkahalli village Mysore

    by Vijay_Indian on

Lovely quiet Homestay. Mrs Geetha and Mr Sugunan are very affable hosts, stayed up till 11.45 pm to receive us and make us comfortable and settle down in our rooms. The food they serve is healthy, tasty and organic food, just like home food. They were present to supervise our every meal and see to it that we are fed well. The rooms are small and cozy, with all essential amenities, with a big sit out and balcony. The gardens and greenery all around with the flowers and fruits trees and the coconut plantations in the premises really give you a feeling of being in another world. It is away from the noise of the city and yet, easy reachable via Google maps, to and fro. The dog Choti and the three cows were a pleasure to behold and pet. Our six year old son really enjoyed his time watching the cows and feeding them and petting them. The staff were all pleasant and ready to serve whenever you express any need. Biofuel powered geysers gave excellent hot water. It is in Chikahalli village and one can just take a lovely walk outside to see the green village outside. It is about 15 mins drive from the centre of Mysore city. It is an ideal place for a family if you are looking for a lovely healthy stay in Mysore on a vacation and show kids what is living amidst nature. Do not expect a hotel like atmosphere, it is a Homestay at an affordable price with all the amenities one needs during a vacation. There is a good medical shop at the corner of the street with all essential medicines. They also gave us very valuable tips about tourism and planning our itinerary. Check in and check out are calculated on basis of 24 hours from your check in, makes checking in at any time easier without a hassle to wait for 12 Noon to check in Or check out at 11 Am as in other places. Many Thanks to Mrs Geetha and Mr Sugunan for making our stay memorable. Stayed for 2 nights and 3 days in November 2017.

  • Hidden Gem just outside Mysore

    by Kanagesh on

I stumbled onto this place by chance while reading a friend's blog that reviewed a few nature home stays within driving distance from Bangalore. With a couple of days at our disposal during the Diwali vacation, we decided to spend a day here with our kids. The property is in a large garden which houses a small farm - residence of the elderly, retired couple who run the place. The main building is the residence of the owners and there are a couple of other buildings that provide rooms for visitors. Based on inputs from earlier reviews on Tripadvisor, we opted to take the room on the first floor in the building that stands furthest from the entrance. Its a lovely room with a sitout that has a swing overlooking the coconut trees in the garden. The room below has two bedrooms which can be optionally connected using a door that separates the two rooms, suitable for a larger family dwelling. The kids loved the place with a lot of place to play and a variety of things to keep the little ones interested. The cattle shed with the cows and calves were a constant haunt of my kids, almost providing a helping hand to those carrying out day to day tasks with the cattle. There is no room service as this is a simple homestay. Food is served around the swimming pool at the main building. You will be given excellent company by Chotu, the friendly labrador. Food served is pure vegetarian and home made with most ingredients obtained from the garden. Breakfast is included in the plan when you take accommodation. Other meals are charged extra (very nominally priced). My kids loved this place and we're looking forward to being back sometime soon. They insist that they would like to spend more time feeding the calves! If you visit the place, here are some things you may want to keep in mind. * The place is a home stay. If you are the type that needs to be pampered, this is not the place for you. * The rooms are well protected to keep insects out of the bedrooms. Carry some repellent if you wish to enjoy the outdoor during the evenings * If you plan to have lunch or dinner at Hillview, ensure you inform them in advance to prepare * Take note that consumption of liquor and non-vegetarian food is not allowed. * The place is not difficult to find if you are familiar with Google maps. * Visiting Mysore town and It would be easier if you had your own transportation.

  • A home away from home

This is farmstay away from the bustle of the main city of Mysore. It is a quaint place, homely with no frills attached to it but offers a comfortable stay. The rooms are clean and couple who run this place are extremely friendly. The tariff is reasonable and the stay is value for money. The breakfast offered is included in the tariff. It is fresh, delicious and home cooked. Lunch and dinner are chargeable. The farm has animals like cows and dogs and also has a pool. It is located in the serene locales overlooking the Chamundi Hills at a distance. We are regulars to this place and would recommend it to people who want a clean well maintained place at a reasonable price.

  • Ask for the rooms in the building that stands farthest from the entrance.

  • All rooms are good but the one on the first floor with an additional small room is what we always choose.
