We paid 850 for what turned out to be the finest room we had during our whole 6-week stay in India. Unfortunately we don't have any photos, but the room was much nicer than the one you can find in existing photos on this page. Perhaps they gave it away cheaper, cause the season hadn't really picked up yet, but it was an absolute bargain nonetheless. The staff at reception helped us in anything from booking and finding spa treatments to finding out which cinemas have English subtitles. Absolutely recommended!

I was having hard time booking a budget hotel for a days stay in Mysore when I called up this hotel. The owner was very friendly and made the booking over phone itself. Upon arrival I found the staff very curtious and the service reasonably nice. The place fits suitably as an option for anyone looking for a small stay and not expecting luxury. Overall a decent place.

To be honest, we didn't choose this hotel, but when we climbed down off the bus from Mudulamai Tiger Reserve we were approached by a tuktuk driver who offered to take us to a central hotel, with nice big rooms, ceiling fans, nice bathrooms, hot water and wifi all for 1000rps per night, his fee from us - 50rps for the fare. And his guarantee - 'If you don't like the hotel I will take you to find another one for free!' We don't normally accept these offers but it was midday, hot and busy so we agreed...... And, the hotel was everything he said it would be. Yes he did offer to take us on tours around Mysore for 50rps, but once We'd told him firmly 'No shopping!! Not even for a moment' he withdrew quietly. So, central location, bustling street, large, clean rooms, ceiling fan, large clean bathroom with hot water. We wouldn't have chosen a squat loo, but it was immaculate and everything worked. If you need TV, our room had a nice wall mounted Sony flatscreen interactive TV. Reception staff and the room porters are very welcoming and helpful too. Wifi is supposedly only available in reception, but we were on the first floor and it worked there too. So, all in all a hidden but cost effective little gem of an hotel....

I stayed at The Chandra Palace 5(December 23,2011)years ago and it was okay. Now it is totally reversed as we didn't expect as the previous, the blankets and bed sheets are the same as old, blankets on the bed were torn and the sheets were clean. The telephone is old one have not been changed for 5 years. However the phone was dirty and it fall down when u took the phone receiver. The taps of cold and hot water in the bathroom were interchanged. They have Indian type toilet and there is no exhaust fan to remove the bad odour in the bathroom! This hotel is in serious need of renovation if they expect to charge whatever they expected per night. They don't have a vehicle parking! There are many better hotels in Mysore in this price range.
