The Green Hotel is not a modern hotel, its not a smart hotel, its a CHARMING old-world hotel. I loved it. I had a room in the palace, the room was small, but nevertheless it was very comfortable, clean and cool. I had been a little worried about the hotel not having air conditioning, I had no need to worry the ceiling fan kept the room wonderfully cool. The hotel as beautiful award-winning gardens that were a delight to eat breakfast in. The food was excellent, as was the service. The staff were first rate, extremely friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel.

A lovely hotel with beautiful award winning gardens, attentive staff and excellent food. The coffee shop is not to be missed, with inexpensive home made freshly baked cakes and very good coffee. The hotel ambience is relaxing and friendly. The travellers rooms are very clean, simple and roomy. The rates for rooms and food are very reasonable and profits go to well run and worthwhile charitable projects. Nearby there is a beautiful lake, perfect for an early morning or early evening walk. Helpful hotel staff will give you more information.

Chittaranjan Palace ( The Green Hotel ) an heritage hotel where I stayed...Chittaranjan Palace was built by the Maharaja of Mysore Krishna Raja Wadiyar IV for his sister in 1916...This palace was sold off by the royal family to a film company, where film studio called "Premier Studios" was created in 1954...In 1990 during the shooting of the television drama " The Sword of Tipu Sultan " directed by Sanjay Khan and Akbar Khan, a major fire accident burnt down the Palace, and claimed 62 lives...The building was abandoned till it was converted to a hotel...The Green Hotel has been set up as a model of sustainable tourism, by the Charities Advisory Trust, a UK charity. All profits are distributed to charitable and environmental projects in India...This palace is haunted...The service is average...The complimentary breakfast is not that great...The garden and the palace is scenic....There is a bakery which is the highlight of this hotel...Amazing breads and cakes...Must try...

Location was too good, but rooms are too small for that price. Only good thing I saw was the property was full of greenery and open area tables for having food was too good. The staff was courteous enough. Thanks/Chandar

We were given rooms in the Annex Building. Rooms were spartan but clean. The painting on the doors and shelves was very interesting. However was very disappointed with the bathrooms as there was no hot water (forget running rot water) and the shower was covered with scales and moss. The complimentary breakfast was also spartan average taste. Service of the staff was good and always with a smile. The architecture of the main building is beautiful from outside and was very impressed with the well kept lawn and the beautiful flowers in bloom around the arrival path and lawn. All in all, an OK place for a tourist, but definitely overpriced for the facilities provided. Have stayed in much better places in Mysore at lower price points.
