The prime attraction of the city is the mighty fort of Nagaur. This historical monument stands remarkably in the centre of the city since 2nd century. Its huge structure and sprawling premises house several magnificent palaces and shrines. The Tarkeen Dargah, Jain Temple and Saiji ka Tank are amongst the popular sacred places located inside the fort. Apart from this, travellers can visit Makrana to marvel at the wonderful stone carvings and sculptures. If time permits, tourists can also explore Jodhpur, which is famous for the Umaid Bhawan Palace, Mehrangarh Fort, Jaswant Thada and Clock Tower. Some other worth visiting places in and around Nagaur are Phalvardhika, Khatu, Manjhwas and Harsor.
Nagaur fair is another highlight of the city that is held during the months of January and February. This second largest fair lasts for around eight days and attracts thousands of animal traders. Nagaur is also famous for Ladnun, where Jain temples dating back to the 10th century are situated. A lot of people visit this place to purge their thoughts and attain peace of mind.
