What's Good: Location of hotel, it's room, hotel services, hotel infra
What needs to improve : Should have planned more activities. Other than Bornfire, was still fine.
Reason For Rating : Nice location, good ambience, friendly and helpful staff and delicious food

Tethys, Narkanda has an idyllic location. The property has pleasing views and gorgeous rose bushes. The rooms are a comfortable size and offer scenic vistas to gaze at. The service is slow in the rooms though the check- in is smooth and the staff courteous and helpful at the reception. The food is quite greasy but the staff is willing to customize if given instructions and notice. For example something like Khichdi is recommended, noodles and sabzis are swimming in oil. The flush was leaking and not repaired by the time we left. The property is one of the safest for women travellers and is reasonably comfortable. For the great views, proximity to the highway and Hatu temple route I would recommend this hotel. They should however, improve food choices and timings of serving food in light of the tariff charged. Those travelling to Rampur and Kinnaur , as we did, breakfast will have to be sought elsewhere as they do not serve early tea or breakfast. The rooms are not totally noise free because of the thin walls.

This is a good property located at a nice place. The rooms are big and have a great view of the mountains. However there is a lot to be desired with regard to the service here. The hotel was understaffed, and the person at the reception was not very helpful. We stayed here for a night while doing the Spiti circuit and this was probably the most expensive of all the hotels we stayed in. The dinner was just about average, and the breakfast buffet the following day was good.

This is an appropriate property for someone who is an adventure enthusiast, get out of the city life to find solace and peace in the hills, romantic getaway or someone looking to go on hilly tracks. They have special arrangements for adventure lovers - bike, ski, jeeps.. you find them all there. I went there for a lunch along with my sister and did have a holistic look at the property and it's offerings, including the rooms and amenities. Considering that it is at an almost unapproachable altitude, if it was not via road, it had very good infrastructure. You would not feel as if you had to compromise on anything when compared to properties in well to do cities like Delhi. It's view is an added advantage. Definitely could be taken up as an option for 2-3 days if you fall in any of the categories i listed at the outset of this article. However, i have reduced one start due to the food - Have not found it good. May be it's the chef who is not very experienced but overall the food experience was not up to the standards of the property.

When we visited Narkanda, we wanted to stay in a quite location and try local Himachali food. With a friends recommendation we decided to book our stay with Tethys. When we entered the approached road, we were thrilled to see a small off road patch leading into the pine forests away from the main city. The resort offered a panoramic view of Hatu peak along with the snow clad Himalayas. The room we got faced the mountains and for the next 2 days we woke up to that amazing view daily. The service was top notch and we found the staff to be very courteous and helpful. What we liked most about the place was the food. They served local food and we really loved the non veg Siddu, kheru and khatta meat. For us this mattered the most, since we love experiencing local cultures. Throughout our Himachal trip we longed to have Siddu, couldnt get it anywhere and really missed our stay at Tethys.

If you are living in cities and shopping mall is the only place you got to spend your weekend then this place will definitely make you feel different. You can reach here only by road and the last 10-15 mins of your journey will not be good since the road from highway to the resort is not in good shape, but still it worth traveling. You can enjoy food in resort but if you want some value for money then you can visit the restaurant in Narkanda market (The Himalaya dhaba). From here you can go to Hatu peek which is covered in snow even in the month of March. There is not much to do here if you visit in off peek season but you will definitely be able to connect with the mother nature which is impossible in cities like Delhi. After inhaling the poison in the form of smoke in Delhi suddenly you will realize that there is actually a place like we see in movies. A must visit specially for people who live in gas chambers.
