Nawalgarh, also known as the Golden city of Rajasthan, is a small town with rich cultural heritage. The beautiful forts and palaces are the best sites to visit during Nawalgarh tour. In addition, this place is also known for several Hindu temples dedicated to different gods and goddesses. While on Nawalgarh tour, travellers can visit the famed Bala Qila, which was built in the year 1737. Presently, this fort is in dilapidated condition, but in one room of the fort, visitors can see beautiful mirror work along with different paintings portraying the scenes of Jaipur and Nawalgarh.
The admirable frescoes and paintings in the Havelis of this town are the highlights of the Nawalgarh sightseeing. Prime attractions of the place are the aath havelis, which is a group of eight forts. There are frescos on the walls of the havelis that depict the change in the painting styles. The Moraraka Haveli located to the opposite of the aath havelis houses some of the beautiful paintings depicting the legends associated with Lord Krishna. The Hem Raj Kulwal Haveli displays the portraits of the Kulwal family along with those of noted Indian leaders such as Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru. Tourists who are inclined towards art can visit the Khedwal Bhawan, where they can see beautiful mirror art and blue tile work.
Nawalgarh tourism has gained immense tourist footfall owing to its religious centres such as Shri Balaji Mandir, Lakshmi Narayan Mandir, Shri Gopinath Ji Mandir, Gangamai Temple, Shri Kalyan Ji Mandir, Mahamaya Temple and Shri Hanumangarh Balaji Mandir, to name a few.
