  • Good Choice for Medical Tour

    by M. J on

During early July 2018 we stayed in this property for my medical treatment in Fortis Escort. It was at the shortest walking distance from Fortis. Cleanliness of the hotel is to be mentioned in particular. The staff of the hotel were very helpful. Found them ready to attend to any issue at any time. Food was excellent, though the choices in the breakfast was little limited. However, our lunch and dinner were cooked exactly to our taste and as we required them. Room lighting could be better.

  • Not what it used to be

    by Chris75058 on

For a start, the name is now Siesta Basil as it's been bought by the Siesta Hospitality Group so that would be good (not to mention accurate) that this new name is updated on the appropriate websites. This had always been my 'Go to' hotel whenever I visited New Delhi but under the new management, I couldn't wait to leave. The front desk staff are not particularly helpful but undoubtedly the worst part of my stay was the cleanliness. The room was dirty and the shelf in the closet had a coating of dust from the time of the Mughals. I've stayed in hotels around the world - this was the first time I have had to clean the shelf in the closet before putting anything on it :( As for the bathroom, you could not make this stuff up. The rainfall shower head was so badly clogged and gross that I had to ask Housekeeping to clean it. They did so and it worked after that. The shower stall had hair in it from the previous guest(s) and no, that's not an exaggeration. Most hotels usually give you 2 towels in the bathroom, irrespective of whether there's just 1 guest. Well, this place is obviously rationing towels and the one they had in my bathroom was so filthy, stained and worn that I had to ask for another. Seriously, their bathroom linens need to be changed now. Note to Housekeeping: can someone check the room/bathroom after it's been cleaned to make sure it really is clean and could you please train your staff? It's not their fault if they don't know what to do so how about some basic training? In summary - find somewhere else. Under the new management, the hotel no longer has the friendly, helpful and courteous staff that made the Basil Residency such a great boutique hotel. While I understand that after the takeover, there might be teething problems, the new management definitely needs to get its act together or they might lose more business.

  • Best hotel near Sukhdev Vihar (South Delhi)

    by 559rakeshb on

Stayed in this hotel during business trip in May 2018. Hotel is located at main road. New delhi railway station is just 12 kms from this hotel, half an hour drive. Nice entrance lobby & reception. Rooms & toilets are neat & clean. Complimentary breakfast starts @ 7.30 am. Food quality is good. Reasonable tariff. Overall rating is 4.5/5. Would like to stay here again for future trips & recommend to other traveler's also.
