Lovely staff, but the rooms are hot, sweaty and dark

We stayed at Aster Inn before joining a G adventures tour, and then again for our last night in Delhi ahead of flying back to the UK.
The good thing about the Aster Inn is the staff. They are very helpful, friendly and keen to help wherever they can. The breakfast was a good option and there's plenty of cold water for when the hot Indian summer hits.
I would say, however, that the rooms are pretty nasty. The showers were very dirty and dark. The rooms were also dirty and dark. There was a fridge, which was good, but that's really it. The AC was so noisy, although you can't really hear anything but the traffic in Delhi!
The location was fairly sketchy...and nothing is really in walking distance. We arranged airport pick up, and were then charged extra when the flight was delayed.
I'd suggest that you spend a little more on a nicer hotel in Delhi, the prices are all very reasonable, so treat yourself to a cool, non-sweaty room that has windows and some natural light.

Poor hotel - will never stay again

Not good at all. Staying with a G-Adventures tour, the Aster Inn provided a good base for exploring New Delhi.
Firstly I shall start with the room. Of a good size for 2 sharing, but with inadequate storage space for 2 travellers. Cleanliness was not too bad, but I mean, not what I am accustomed to. The bathroom is unclean - putting it simply. Unclean shower, unclean toilet, unclean towels. The noise of the A/C is unbelievable - I felt like I was in a wind tunnel.
Breakfast - 200 Rupees for a very poor spread. I had a banana and a few pieces of roti. Incredibly poor value. The other options were not suitable for me (I would tell you what they were, but I honestly have no idea)
The staff, whilst friendly enough were too many in number. At one point we counted 7 bell boys - take note that the hotel is small.
In my honest opinion, G Adventures ought to look for other hotels in the city to enhance traveller experience. I would not willingly return to this hotel in the future.

Please don't waste time and money on this hotel.Pathetic location.Dirty and small bathroom.Uncomfortable mattresses with pillows.Difficult to spend the night.Trust me it's not a good hotel. We even found a staple pin in the breakfast.

Only place which rivals this hotel is the sister hotel grand park inn down the road.
I am a well travelled person having travelled in hostels through Nepal, vietnam and Thailand and I hated my stay here
There was a grate on the wall which let air in all night so when you woke up in the morning you had a bad chest (Delhi air quality is not good)
Due to the grate the noise was also horrific! Howling dogs, people, cars, bikes all night long.
The light was broken.
The beds were dirty... the quilt was a dirty blanket with stains on.
The shower was filthy.
The housekeeping staff were nice and polite but unfortunately that didnt make up for the atrocious state of the room.
A dreadful stay! Never again! Give me the sleeper train any day!

The rooms were ok, the bathrooms were awful however and no hot water. Staff grumpy and the breakfast was poor not much choice at all and not kept warm either so all the food went cold. The location is horrible and not a nice part of Delhi. Would never stay here again.
