What's Good: The rates are very expensive. They do not have their transport facility. Although the checkout was at 12 PM, the card stops working in the morning as it considers any time after 12 AM in the night as the second day! Compared to the rates that are pretty high, I would have expected much better services. The food at Amreli restaurant is really good but pretty expensive too.

We chose this hotel for a one night stay between a long car journey and a flight the next evening. Having read the not so great reviews I was pleasantly surprised by the service received at the hotel. Check in was smooth and seamless, rooms were clean and had all facilities including blackout curtains and what seemed like sound proof windows as we could not hear any of the crazy Delhi hooting. Breakfast the next day was good too. The hotel is small however well maintained. Staff were eager to assist. The hotel kindly looked after our bags until our flight that evening which meant we could use the day to get out and about. The only small niggle was that the water from the shower was only luke warm and not hot, we reported this to the front desk. All in all a good experience for us and we would stay here again when we are back in Delhi.

Me and my friend stayed at the hotel for 3 nights and booked from Make My Trip. I saw mixed reviews and all hotels in this category had similar mixed reviews so decided to go with it. Well, first of all it is nowhere close to a 4* hotel that it claims to be. It can be a 2* hotel. Entrance was very small. As we entered we realized that it is a house turned into a hotel. You can imagine what to expect. Every small small things are out of place. TV was kept on sometimes not wall mounted. Bathroom door cannot be opened fully etc etc. Breakfast is very very limited items. Unlike a 3* hotel So yes they charge only for the prime location.

I arrived in the city early morning hours and while on the way to the Connaught place I happened to see this decent hotel.I decided to spend a couple hours with the breakfast in this hotel. There is a small cozy type restaurant here offering great tasty breakfast with real nice music. Boys and girls are prompt in serve you well. I had a satisfactory food in breakfast here at ease and it was not a costly affair as well. Overall a quite decent place with good ambience.

Keep looking. Don't know how they got this rating. Most certainly not a 4-star hotel. Their photos online are very misleading as are the amenities they advertise. There's absolutely nothing about this hotel that justifies their price tag. The only diplomatic thing about it is their name. It's worse than the 3-star hotel I stayed in nearby, for less than half the price. I should have taken the reviews here under more consideration, but I brushed it off as people being fussy. I chose this hotel after a couple of nights in Delhi at a noisy 3-star hotel at a chaotic street. Upon deciding to pay more than twice as much for the diplomat, I was ready for everything to be two times better, but was quickly disappointed. Upon check in, I come across an unwelcoming front desk man, who is condescending and rude. No smile, no 'welcome', nothing. I felt regarded as an inconvenience. I wondered if it had something to do with me being a young western woman traveling solo and he felt an entitlement for disrespect? As I was having an unpleasant check in interaction with this man, a well dressed Indian male guest walked by and the obnoxious guy checking me in opened a big smile to the man, said something in hindi in a very friendly tone and then turned it off again to deal with me. While checking in, I thought for a moment that my passport was inside my locked bag. They weren't busy at all, so I asked if he could just wait until I got to the room and opened the suitcase to get the passport, so that I didn't have to fidget with having to open my luggage right there at reception. I could give an alternative id in the meantime. But he wasn't about making me feel welcome or making anything smoother. He had no problem making me open my big bag right there, until thankfully, I realized I had the passport on my handbag. What a nightmare. Then he told me in an authoritative tone that if I wanted to order dinner, I had to do it by a certain time. "After that, no dinner!", he said rudely. This was around 3pm. He also didn't bother to give me the wifi password and brushed me off and sounded irritated when I called from the room to ask for it. Zero customer service skills. When I got into the stuffy, dusty and dated room, it wasn't even the same standard as the previous 3-star hotel I was in, it was worse! For more than twice the money. How was this possible? Sheets and pillowcases were stained, ripped and dirty. Even the walls were dirty. The next morning I asked for the sheets to be changed. Then, on the 'newly' changed sheets there was a giant dirty foot mark on the top sheet (see photo). By what standard does this place get 4 stars? I was beyond frustrated for having chosen this hotel. Contrary to what's advertised on their website, none of the amenities they mention were in the room. There was no iron or ironing board, no slippers, no blow dryer, no dental kit, no weighing scale and of course, I got no daily newspaper. Apparently if you want any of the above, you have to call for it. But when you do call, you encounter attitude from the front desk. In the bathroom, there were no hand towels (I also had to call for one), the little conditioner bottle was half way used and there was only one, nearly finished roll of toilet paper and the 'sanitized' sealed toilet seat was actually a bit dirty. The next day, the finished toilet paper roll was replaced with yet another almost finished roll... 4 stars? No laundry bag or laundry price list in the room. The laundry service is disorganized and it seems like reception would prefer you not to bother them with your laundry needs. They wanted to return my laundry two days after picking it up. And I don't know how this is possible, but my clothes were returned with stains they didn't have before. No joke. Also no mini bar amenities, in spite of what their website says. There was a beaten up dusty old kettle that looked like it had been there for over a decade. Wires dangling on the wall from behind the TV. Again, by what standard is this a four-star hotel? At the least the room was quiet, which was nice. When I called reception to ask for some cotton buds (it's supposed to be a 4-star hotel, so I thought that would be a no-brainer), the guy with the attitude said he'd send some up. After almost half an hour waiting, I called again. Sounding annoyed, he tells me again that he's sending it and hangs up the phone on me! Seriously? Up until this point I was being as friendly and polite as I could. Perhaps that made him feel even more entitled. Maybe if I had been colder and ruder he would have shown more respect. And it's not like they were too busy, there were hardly any guests around. The breakfast buffet is simple and geared towards Indian guests. The American/Continental breakfast that they advertise is a communal bowl of fruit, cereal and toast, the latter which the waiter, trying to be nice, grabbed for me from the toaster with his bare hands. Ultimately, the hotel personnel is what makes it or breaks it for me. If the rooms aren't great but the staff is friendly and helpful, the flaws can be overlooked. But if you come across an unfriendly person as your first impression of the hotel and then is shown to a dusty old room with dirty and ripped sheets and none of the amenities advertised, that just adds insult to injury. With the exception of a very young man, the rest of the front desk needs a lot more training. Even the bell man gave me attitude, but softened up after I tipped him. I spent three nights there and from the few guests I saw around, I was the only western. That front desk man gave me a pretty bad first impression but I should be fair to the other employees. The overall service was far from outstanding but at least they weren't rude. Even the guy who handled my food with his hands was just trying to help. And another member of the staff opened the restaurant early just so I could eat there on Holi day, when everything around the hotel was closed. That was nice. Their restaurant is actually cozy and more updated than the rest of the hotel. It has a varied menu and the food is hit or miss. I've had good and not so good during my stay. The staff there are friendlier than at reception. The very young man at reception who seems friendlier I could hardly interact with. The rude one would step in and interrupt on the few occasions when I approached him with questions. The lawn outside the restaurant lacks a little maintenance, but it is surrounded by trees and bushes and is the nicest part of the hotel. Again, I wish I had paid closer attention to the reviews. This hotel lacks management at every level. I don't recommend it and will definitely not be staying again there again. If you're looking for a 4-star hotel in Delhi, do yourself a favor and keep looking.

Terrible experience. Poor quality room, TV remote barely worked, no water in the morning for almost 30 mins... breakfast service awful. No charging point near the bed at all so cant even charge a mobile phone.... Never again! Ever!
