Basic and clean hotel, conveniently located near many of the embassies.

I stayed at Diplomat for a night. Hotel is conveniently located near many of the embassies. I took the basic room, it was a very small room, but well kept and clean. The food was great and the overall service was prompt as well.
Good Food and Location

Only 2 advantages of Diplomat hotel, 1st is its location n second is its restaurant that serves good food. Hotel lacks well equipped Gym n swimming pool. Gym is too small having space for only 3 treadmills

Hotel Diplomat has really nice and spacious rooms, and is well located near the government office and Parliament area in Delhi. The staff is very helpful - we had stayed there for a friend's wedding and the staff went above and beyond the call of duty to help us. The food here is good too, and well priced. The veg pasta and bruscetta are really tasty. Breakfast is good too - do try the Aloo sabji during breakfast. The only drawback is that breakfast is available exactly till 10:30 am, post which they immediately close the breakfast counter - when one is on holiday, a little flexibility would be nice. Overall, we had a good stay here.
Property only good for its location and nothing else

Decent property, but not at all 4 star types (which is the rating that it has). It is very old property and they have not maintained the rooms at all. Service by staff was also slow, you had to call twice to get the service. Some items which they need to work on: 1. Main highlight - was extremely small size of shower area. Don't know they have designed it for whom? An average indian man won't fit there at all. 2.Waste water for atleast 10+ minutes to get hot water. Felt so bad to let the cold water go for almost 10-15 minutes. Trust me, am not exaggerating, it took that long in bathroom to get hot water. 3. Broken accessories of room. Need immediate maintenance for some items. Attached some sample photos. So, just another hotel and nothing special. Especially, not at all value for money.
Grand old property close to diplomatic enclave
by Somprakas B on
Place is easy to find and within 10 km from Delhi airport on a highway. I was told it is more than 50 years old! The neighborhood is diplomatic enclave, an area full of embassies and high commission. Diffiuclt to find a shop, eating joint within a couple of kilometers. So if one has an official work in the neighborhood it is good place to stay. No parking space. But quite secure and safe overall. Quick check in, polite and helpful staff and clean rooms. the mezzanine floors are a bit off color, their in room facility also not adequate. The mobile connectivity is a problem inside the rooms. Good solid soundproof doors with automatic lock system. Beds and duvets/blankets are comfortable. There is in room temperature control. Bathroom was clean and had minimal toiletries. However warm water in the morning came after sometime of opening the shower consequently with a huge waste of water. In room furniture is inadequate and of low quality. Restaurant and bar is good. Food quality is good but overpriced. Breakfast was a disillusionment! not much to choose from. Overall nice experience. Not a value for money experience.
Do not take 111-114 rooms; these are mezzanine floor rooms, better to avoid.

Rooms on the first floor are the best

I would ask for a room on the first floor as there is not an elevator.

Stay elsewhere - the all the rooms are noisy with internal issues.
