  • Best welcome in India

Joeys Hostel is a must stay destination in Delhi. Upon arriving my first evening at 1:00am, the staff was extremely helpful and welcoming. I had just come in from a long flight from Toronto and adjusting to the time zone and new culture so it was the ideal homely welcome. The rooms were very clean and well maintained daily. The location of the hostel is central and close to markets and the Laxmi Nagar subway station. The rooftop is by far the best hangout location to meet locals and international travellers. There is a chilled out vibe that makes any type of traveler feel comfortable and welcomed. Staff are always making sure that your needs are met and ultimately becoming friends. I highly recommend Joeys to any age group looking for a warm welcome to the chaos of Delhi. I stayed in both private and dorm rooms and they were equally fantastic.

  • Heres a REAL review, enjoy!

Okay people here I go. The staff is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and always ready to lend a hand. The stars are awarded to them. The facilities are acceptably clean. Could be worse but could also be better. Heres a thought, 2 hot water tanks the size of my scrotum is not enough to supply the amount of guests this hostel has at once with a descent warm shower. Come on Joey, a little investment towards this can go a long way for your guests. Now the important part. The mixed dorms. I have spent just over 2 months in India, long enough to understand that Indians little etiquette when it comes to living in a communal room with foreigners. No offense... The insistent talking on cellphones, coming in at all hours of the night without the slightest consideration for those trying to get some shut eye is a BIG problem in my opinion. AND an emphasis should be made on the communal areas used for activities like phone calls etc. There should be dorms for foreigners and dorms for Indian nationals OR some stricter rules set. I have made a complaint about this and the staff responded immediately. Although brushed off by the owners when they tried to take it upon themselves to separate the culprits... As I am writing this, a man a foot from my head is talking to himself, coughing up a deep loogey and playing some internet video at max volume. If it wasnt for this non sense I would definitely recommend this hostel to everyone but unfortunately without solving this issue I cannot. If you dont care about sleep, or dealing with (some) disrespectful inconsiderate grotesque guests then hey! This is the spot for you. Cheers and good luck :) P.S get some decent couches man

  • A must stay!

Really welcoming staff, offering help for itinerarys, places to visit and places to eat! Comfy beds with curtains and plug sockets. Something going on in the hostel every day/night including walking tours, making chai, street food night etc. Will stay again!

  • Outstanding staff made the difference!

From my many years of traveling and staying at hostels, I've learned that it's the staff who make the real difference! The staff at Joey's most definitely made my stay there a positive one! All of them were friendly, helpful, fluent in English and responsive to the guests' needs. The hostel was bustling, with people coming and going everyday, but Ashish managed the place very well, and everyone kept their cool. I also appreciated his wry sense of humor and his generous consideration to provide me with a later, much needed check-out. Also, big thanks to Jeneen (sorry for wrong spelling), who was such a sweet, considerate and wonderful young lady. She took really good care of me, helping me to carry my bags to the 2nd floor, booking tickets and tours for me, instructions with metro routes, booking Uber cab for me to the airport, and staying out in the street with me until the cab arrived. Thanks to her, my trip was much easier and less stressful! The all-female dorm I stayed in was quite clean, and the bathrooms were cleaned everyday. Hot water showers were available, and the breakfast, though minimalist and the same everyday, were still better than nothing. I would recommend that they change the menu a little (maybe scrambled eggs as well as boiled eggs), and different kinds of fruits, not just bananas. Also, the couches in the reception area have died, and need to be replaced! But all these are small things, because the staff made staying at Joey's its best reward!
