  • Safe place, top host

    by Aran2005 on

Nina is a top host together with her help. Many good advices and tips to help you with your plans visiting Delhi or arrange a taxi. The (western) breakfast is super. I was there in January with cold nights in Delhi. But there is a hot water shower, a heater in the room and I got a warm water bottle for my feet every night. The location is very good and safe. It is in a secure neighbourhood. To reach the nearest metro station is a 10 minute easy walk. It is a metro station with 3 lines and a local and interstate bus terminal. Nina can give you a metro card. Although Delhi is very noisy, this place isnt. It is a room with your own bathroom in the appartment of Nina. To go out you have to pass the living. room. This isnt a problem except when you want to have a 100% privacy. It is a homestay, you know!

  • A pleasant homestay - recommended!

    by Mari K on

I only wish we had had more time to sit and talk with Nina, our host! This is a pleasant homestay in a very green and calm residential area considering how central the location is; we weren't bothered by noise and the bed was comfortable too! Nina has a beatiful small terrace but at the time of our stay during the monsoon it was too hot and humid to spend much time there. Practically next to Kashemere Gate metro station with easy access to autos too. A small "In and Out" store at the petrol pump just outside the gate for drinks and snacks. Nina is happy to help you with anything and everything so we highly recommend Nina's for first-time visitors to Delhi and India especially.

  • Lovely host and helper

    by ekholden on

We arrived very late because of flight delays yet Rajbir who does driving for Nina was still at the airport 4 hours later to take us to the apartment. Nina also welcomes us despite the late hour! The place itself is inside a walled compound. Upon arrival at 3am it seemed a bit strange, but once we saw it in daylight it became obvious that this is a prosperous community, welcoming and quiet. The room itself is like staying with a relative - it is off of a dining/ living area and there is a large shower room / washroom attached. It feels like someones home but is also very interesting because its different to what we would see in any other accommodation. The breakfast was a highlight on each of the 2 days along with a day tour of Delhi with Rajbir who is a gem of a person. We would like to take a tour with Rajbir for a few days next time! Nina is a charming host and is very interesting in conversation. Should you want a local restaurant, you can walk a few blocks to BOA (Best of Asia) which has a roof top bar and restaurant- good music and local people. Enjoy Ninas!!!

  • Gem of a location with wonderful owner

This homestay is excellently situated with easy access to Old and New Delhi by the Metro. Nina is an engaging, kind and knowledgeable person and her housekeeper Sunita cooks excellent breakfasts. There is a quiet rooftop terrace garden with wonderful bird filled views. Nina's customer service is world class!

  • 5 Night Stay at Nina Kochhar's in Late March 2018

    by DdddVvvv on

Delhi was my first stop on a 12 day/13 night trip to India. As it was my first trip to India, I thought it might be a good idea to stay at a local homestay in the event that I needed some assistance acclimating myself to the local environment. Well, I made a good choice. Ms. Kochhar was a lovely host I felt like I was staying in a family members home. Little touches like providing a Metro card, dropping me off at a local tourist site on my first day, and putting out the local English language newspapers Friday entertainment section for me to check out, were all welcome. Each evening after I returned from my travels, wed sit and chat and shed give me some local insight into what Id seen and done. Meals were provided by her helper; breakfast was prepared fresh and the food was good. No, its not a fancy hotel, and its probably not the right place for a couple on a romantic getaway (youre getting a bedroom and bath in someones apartment) but for a few nights as a solo traveler, it was perfect. The bedroom was spacious and clean, with fan and AC (which wasnt needed). Wi-Fi access was good, as was hot water for a shower in the AM. They even did a small load of laundry for me. Walking distance to Metro station with access to multiple lines. Thank you Nina I enjoyed my time at your homestay it was a very nice introduction to India and Delhi (and I learned a lot from you).
