What's Good: The only thing good about this place is the vintage part of the property.Otherwise the people in the hotel are crooks. A meal for 4 adults costed us Rs 3500. A plate of 6 onion pieces costed us Rs 60. So better carry some onions if you are going there. People in this hotel are cheats and no warmth in the service.

If you ever thought, Nilgiris experience is all about the likes of trip to Ooty botanical garden, boating in Ooty lake, or a heritage train ride to Coonoor, or the tea-estates in Kotagiri...Please think again !! If you want an exciting jungle stay experience in the heart of Nilgiris, then go to this place called 'Mystique Ville'. It's situated right at the '15th hairpin bend' of the Ghat road (road through Nilgiris mountains) on the stretch of Masinagudi to Ooty on 36-hairpin bends road (also known as Sigur Ghat/State highway# 67) The Victorian resort from the British era, is tucked few hundred meters away from the main road, right inside the jungle, an exciting motorable dirt-track connects to the resort from the main road. Once you are inside the resort, quietness of the jungle grips you with a jaw-dropping view of Nilgiris mountain range, at its best. You would certainly feel odd with all the noise from city's concrete jungle missing here, but thats a very welcome change !! This itself is a rare experience and its worth every bit of it. The resort has a decent stay facility, please set your expectation right - you are not staying in a luxury hotel with all the comforts. so, if you find any insects etc. feel at ease, since you are actually in their territory..:) Rooms are quite comfortable, the ones facing the mountain and the lawn, have breathtaking view, never miss the opportunity to stay in some of these rooms. The lawn down below is very beautiful and well maintained and it boasts a swimming pool which is very rare in the entire Nilgiris. The pool is operational almost all through the year except when it's shut down for maintenance. Food is decent with a buffet breakfast and the in-house kitchen mostly serves authentic Indian cuisine (and Indian-chinese too). You can plan for a camp-fire and a barbecue, on special request to the management at an extra cost. Though the place is very safe, please don't venture around in the night since this part of the jungle has trails for animals including elephant and bison. Once you overcome the overwhelming experience of the place itself, its time to plan for some fun filled trekking on the jungle trail. Don't look beyond 'Bala', who is a resort staff and he is a pro in this field. He knows every corner of the jungle - the place to sight animals, the waterfalls, and the best view points. you can plan this all either for a sunrise time or sunset. If you have enough time in hand, my recommendation would be for both sunrise and sunset trekking or a jeep ride through jungle dirt-track. These are unforgettable moments, which you would carry it along when you get back to the concrete jungle of city life. My suggestion would be for a minimum of two nights stay at this resort to get the best out of the place and the surrounding jungle. No length of writing can do justice to the beauty of this place which is well over 100 years old. Last thing to note - this is a complete jungle stay experience with modern amenities but not ultra modern. Also, please don't forget to pack your bags to suit a jungle stay with suitable clothing, shoes and other gear that you may require, depending upon your level of jungle adventure plan.

This place is very close to my heart and one of favorite place to go visit. If I get a chance I will keep visiting this place every 3 months. Everyone working there are kind and helpful. I have no complains as the food and hospitality was good. Its a beautiful place if you want to escape into the beauty of nature from all the hustle and bustle of city life. I go there to enjoy the nature because the view from the room window is to the waterfall and a beautiful valley. I will rate the my experience with Mystique Ville as 5/5. I promise to come back again and again and again to Mystique Ville.

Best thing about this place: is its Location..! Waking up with a view where u can see waterfalls amidst greenary everywhere around.. Very pleasant experience! 2) rooms: very well maintained.. Clean bathrooms with separate wet n dry areas... Spacious rooms...room with a view.. TV present... Fireplace in your room: need to pay additional 100 Rs for lighting fire in ur room.. 4/5 stars for the room 3) food: limited options.. Serves both veg n non veg... Few items but good taste. I rate it 3/5 4) activities : again very limited.. Carrom was the only option available.. Pool area is good.. But needs a lit bit of maintainence 5)places to visit nearby: u can visit ooty which is 16 km away... They provide transportation facilities for ooty.. Initially they quoted 4k for 10 ppl.. But price s negotiable.. V for it for 3k..u can leave by 9 to visit ooty n come back by afternoon.. 6)cost per person per night is slightly on the higher side.. But if u r a large group of ppl.. Price s negotiable.. Overall My experience of this place was too good.. I would definitely like to visit this place again with my friends! Overall I rate it 4/5 P.S: it's my first review.. N I m really glad to be writing about this place.

Hi.. This is Cherag Gabla We went with our family of 14 members. We had an overall great experience. A picturesque view from the hotel rooms. The hotel rooms are clean and well maintained by Mr. Shyam and his team. We had really enjoyed the food at restaurant. The chef is excellent and the team is preparing authentic delicious dishes which we had cherished a lot. Hats off to the team that they are managing all such comfort at such a remote location. You can also enjoy a jungle trekking experience with Mr. Bala. Mr. Bala has tremendous knowledge of local areas and he could add a different experience altogether to your trip.

Food - quality 3 out of 5; price: 2 out of 5 (way too expensive...a bottle of mineral water costs 45/-). we were pure vegetarians so can't say about the quality of non-veg. But the food tastes good and that's why a rating of 3 else this sure deserves a rating of 2. Room - 2 out of 5; Ensure you go on dry weather days..if it rains you sure will be sleeping under the dripping water from the ceiling and also water seepage from the windows. Hot water in shower room is restricted for few hours in the morning and again at night...and then it takes 3 full buckets to even start getting lukewarm water...and that's heavy wastage of water when you visit them in winter time coz you just cant take a shower in freezing cold water that comes out even in summer. Dining area: Plenty of housefly's...they don't even have a fly catcher or taken steps to keep the room free from bugs and fly's; Checkout process - 1 out of 5; is a nightmare. Takes anywhere from 30-45 minutes and pray that the BSNL line works else your credit card won't work and you'll end up paying in cash. Overall Property: 2 out of 5. Some cheap guests ensure to use the small fountains to dry their clothes including undergarments and when complained to the front office, they said they cannot control the guests. Wonder what kind of management lets the guests use the common areas to dry their clothes...damn it...we paid for a resort not some home-stay property and to see undergarments welcoming our first step outside our rooms. The only reason they are getting this 2 out of 5 is because of the location of the property...right adjacent to the Kalhatty waterfall and if you are in vintage room (#206), you don't even have to get out of your bed to see the waterfall or the clifftop pool and the adjoining mountains. Prakash promised to arrange for campfire but since it rained he said he will have the firewood sent so we can make use of the fireplace inside Vintage rooms. But he left for the day and the ones who took his shift, said that they don't have any firewood and the wood lying outside on the lawns cannot be used coz they are all wet as it was constantly raining. Prakash promised that Balu - the guide will help us during the stay...but he was hardly of any help and was trying to rip us on the costs for a ride to Mudumalai forest. We instead made arrangements locally at the Mudumalai forest and were able to get a safari for half the cost. Plus, Balu also promised to arrange a jeep for 7 of us for a trek to nearby tea estates and a ride to the mountain top close to the property...we ended up waiting for over 2 hours and ruined our half-day as there was no response when we called Balu. Recommend that you only expect basic room facilities and some decent south-indian breakfast. FYI as well...No wireless, no internet at the property...and no 3g or 4g or even 2g on Airtel. Hope this candid review helps for you to make an informed decision when booking this property.
