I was not so sure whether to stay here in May since I know it was going to be warm during the days since the altitude isnt high like in Ooty. It would have been a big miss if I have decided any other place for our family vacation of 3 days. Placed in a 100 acre tea estate with patches of grass lands and small streams around in a secluded place, there is no better location to unwind. The colonial bungalow is splendid with huge bedroom, bathrooms with bathtubs, open verandah, common room with billiards table and dining section. Icing on the cake is the swimming pool that is constantly fed from a natural stream of water, it is pristine water with no chlorine and constantly recycled naturally (Im sure that water will be ice cold during the winter months). Highlights were walks through the plantation, days spent in the pool, short drive around in the in-house Gurkha 4X4, water apples from the adjacent tree, constant sighting of peacocks (was luck to see one spreading the feathers and dancing), game of billiards etc. Service levels and cleanliness are more than excellent, Vinod and his team ensures you are treated very well during your stay. The food is top notch and chef needs a VERY special mention. He is been doing this from the British days and has some moth watering desserts and other dishes from those days. We were lucky to have couple of lovely families to give us company on Day 1 and on Day 2, we got the entire bungalow to ourselves. We had our chef (very sorry that I am missing his name)sharing very interesting stories about the place, elephants in the area (they visit campus and the pool often, but we missed them) etc. after dinner. One small word of advice to folks going there, if you are very particular about food timings, please inform Vinod and team in advance, else food timings are bit relaxed. But I would suggest try to workup an appetite during the wait so that you can do justice to the wonderful food served. We enjoyed every moment spent there and will definitely go again.

I have booked a room through nearby, and the booking went through and the money was taken. But today when I called up the resort one unmannerly lady answered my call and she just cut the call saying she had cancelled my request. When I tried calling her back she disconnects my call and just sends me a message that she's busy. I have no answer for my money. Bloody unethical fools, what sort of Customer service you people provide

It is a beautiful cottage set amidst a lovely tea estate. The food was stupendous. I am a vegetarian but the non-vegetarians in our group were endlessly praising every dish that was made. And the vegetarian food was also finger-licking good. You can't expect a luxurious hotel-like ambience in the rooms , but they were clean and well maintained. Great place for a short getaway. It rained almost all the time that I was there, but that didnt dampen our spirits . It looked too beautiful

If you are looking for a homely private getaway, this is the place! Decorated like a home, service and food like it's your very own tea estate bungalow; we felt right at home here. We were lucky to have the whole bungalow of 4 rooms to ourselves. Barbecue and Bonfire stories of elephants helping themselves to drink of water from the spring water swimming pool at the property were highlights. You can find several century collectors items here like an antique multimeter, stamps, mugs, coffee table books of Cheetahs and Tea and even a vintage Snooker table. The food is outstanding in a homely way and portions are huge! The drive was peaceful through Bandipur and Mudumalai, just 5 hours from Bangalore and 2 hours from Ootty.
