We stayed here for two nights in the beautiful iris cottages. Our room had recently been refurbished and was clean, bright and spacious. Room had everything required,(WiFi, tea making, fridge, TV, in room safe and good lighting). Bathroom and shower were huge, towels the most soft and fluffy. Could not fault the room. It also had a little fire place for chilly evening. News paper in the morning. Bed was ultra comfy and bedding of high quality. Hotel is peaceful and tranquil, lots of space, lawns and gardens a little outside of the town. Food was good. There is a good selection of indian and western foods for those needing a change. We thought the bar area had been modernised too far and sometimes the lighting in the bar and restaurant was too bright.Food was good. Service through out was first class.Staff at breakfast and evening dinning were always kind and professional especially when attempting to deal with a particularily boorish female guest who loudly complained about everything. Check in and check out thoughtful and professional. Could have stayed here longer especially as we the most wonderful weather. Croquet set needs replacing. Nothing to fault this place. would return here in a heartbeat. Thanks.

This is the first time we stayed at Taj Savoy, Ooty and its heartening to say that it was a very pleasurable stay. Right from the time we arrived till the check-out time, the team at this hotel provided the services with a warm smile. What's noteworthy that all of them have mastered the art of making the guests (like us) feel comfortable and happy. Mr. Ritesh Choudhary is ever helpful, warm and enthusiastic in his interactions and his Taj Savoy team members made our stay experience a memorable one. The rooms were cozy and the property surroundings quite serene. Overall, a great Taj experience to remember !

Returning after 5 years we found the Savoy hotel to be as charming and welcoming as before. In addition the improvements, such as underfloor heating and the spa added to our comfort and enjoyment . Food and the service was excellent.

The Taj (now IHCL) is restoring and rebranding this heritage hotel and our visit came in the middle of the process. New walkways and steps were being built, lawns resodded, etc. The restaurant staff was young and, in many cases, inexperienced. The one experienced waiter was over-worked. Our food, however, was very good. We recommend sticking to the Indian specialties. Who goes to Ooty for pizza? The unhappy guests at the adjacent table found that out. Our room in the 200 block was dated but clean, very nice, with a small sitting room. The bath had an excellent walk-in shower. WiFi worked very well. The breakfast buffet wasn't kept quite hot enough. There are cooks for made to order items. I guess someone made the financial decision to keep the place open and get it ready for the season in Ooty, still some little ways off and work around the redo. Future guests will benefit.

I had the privilege of spending one night in this beautiful hotel, gorgeous rooms with loads of character and each with its own front yard. Friendly staff, excellent chef, they went out of their way to accommodate us and even featured some of our local cuisine in their dinner buffet. Ideal place for relaxation.
