I will share my experience starting with Pros and Cons. Pros (+) Location, Lawn/Garden, Fireplace Cons (-) Rooms, Service, Attitude, No wifi, Limited hot water supply. Starting with positives, the location of the hotel is good and close by Ooty bus stand, but it is not walkable. The garden and lawn they maintain is simply superb. Makes you feel more relaxed and soothed. Good for spending some time with kids. You will also find a fire place inside the room which makes the room warm and gives you a vintage feel. And all good things end right here. Rooms: I opted for 2 Rustic cottages and it is horrible experience to stay in the room. The moment you step in, you can smell the room stinking. The bathroom tiles were broken. You will feel like walking in ice as it is a tiled floor with no carpets. The wardrobes were not clean and has a foul smell. A small size old fashion TV and it was not working in one of the rooms. Though it was rectified after several followups. The rooms doesn't comes with any traditional bolted locks, just the keys will let you IN and anybody has the spare key can get in at anytime. It is simply insecure. A small place right in front of the room and strangers/workers come in for a smoke which is disgusting when you stay with family and kids. On a whole, i will rate 2/10 for the rooms. Service & Food : Its a mixed bag here but certainly not good. Most of the time, room service, Restaurant fellas will not pick your call. Reception is the only saviour and one stop solution. The reception folks seems to be cooperative but that doesn't help you much in service what you get. No toiletries kept. And they will not replace it the next day. They have a party hall and busy serving those. Ordered only once, the food is OK but they have very few items to order. Rest all other time we had outside food where you have plenty of choices and tastier too. Coffee is good and tea is so , so. Overall 1/10 for food and service. Lastly, i had a very worst checkout experience. After checking out, they called me immediately when i was about to leave and informed me that kettle was missing in my room. I told that kettle was missing right from the begining and we didn't bothered about it as we ordered coffee, tea and hot water from room service. But the service in charge person kept on saying that, he has refilled the kettle during the room cleaning on the next day. Both receptionist looking at me as if i have taken and kept it with me. I calmly said, you are most welcome to come and check all my luggages kept inside my car. However my wife was so angry and rightly so. Summary: If you want a good room, service, food and attitude, just stay away from this place.

Checked in at Kluney Manor hotel in Ootacamund, on 12th May, 2108. Check was a bit slow as the previous guests had checked out late. Spent the time wandering the grounds of this beautiful property. The Kluney manor is an old Victorian, single story structure, very well maintained by the owners. And an assortment of cottages within the grounds. I was given a rustic cottage which is part a set of four rooms back to back, away from the main building. Unfortunately my room was really at the back with no view and no ventilation as the front door opened to a retaining wall. The 'cottage' was very basic with unpolished wood panelling and a backless bench set against the wall. A coffee table and a chair. The bathroom was small and dark with dark green tiles and a small ventilation window higher up one outside wall. The design of the commode makes it very uncomfortable to sit, with the health fawcet fitting jutting out from the wall and the hurting the knee. The health fawcet itself was broken and not replaced. The dining area is set in a lovely room with wood flooring and a wood ceiling and gives an old world charm, which is typical of most old houses in Ooty, being as they are from the British Raj era. The food was laid out in a buffet. Basic indian fare and not so tasty as was breakfast. The staff while not being rude, were unhospitable with nary a single smile on any face, which seemed odd in a hospitality industry. All in all a fine property, a decent enough hotel. If you are looking for being away from the crowds, this is the place to go. Tucked away within the Ooty hills.

We were a group of 50 of all ages and stayed for 2 nights. The rooms are simple, classic and the toilets were clean with sufficient hot water but available at specific timings. Room service has been good but the only downside we faced are the quality of the buffet. Our complaints were well taken and been rectified from the next meal onwards. Their lawn next to their portico and the one down the hill are just fantastic and guaranteed, one can endless fun outdoors if you got a good group. They also allowed decent loud music until 10:30 pm and also have good camp fire set ups. Take aways: It s more beautiful on the outside(garden) than the inside of the hotel. On the pricey side. Buffet service can be better. Worth staying there and worth recommending.

Visited the hotel during the first weekend of April 2018 with my wife. Stayed in Classic Cottage. Big rooms, average furniture. Food was average. Avoid soups and pasta. Breakfast was not amazing either. The best part about the hotel is the well maintained lawns. But definitely overpriced considering the other properties available in Ooty.

If you are going here for a stay you better be loaded. The good rooms come at a considerably expensive price tag, and the moderately priced rooms aren't that great at all. Location is a bit away from the main city, good if you want to stay away from it, bad if you want to go shopping all the time. Hot water is available in the bathrooms, so that is a big plus. The food is pretty good, not the best, but pretty good, but expensive. When I visited, my room fee equaled my food bill, so go figure. Their gardens are very well maintained.
