Drove up to the place with friends, 4 of us. Just a day's stay, left reservations quite late, couple of days prior to the stay; there was just one room available. On arriving, the place is quite close to the town centre, pleasantly surprised to find that the room at the far end of the bungalow, was large; plenty of room with beds for 4 set up. This is a beautiful, colonial style house, about 120 years old. Limestone surfaces on the walls, and beautiful wooden floors. The dining hall is lovely, with a wooden mantelpiece, beautifully carved, over a fireplace. Non functional, sadly. Large windows run the length of hall, offering a panoramic view of the town valley. Back to the room, simple and tasteful; non functional fireplace, again. White walls, pleasant to the touch and easy on the eyes. Clean, comfortable beds. The bathroom deserves a special mention, fantastic tiled design, has aged wonderfully. Clean, with modern fittings. Hot water is continuously available. Food, you've to order in advance. Nothing fancy, simple home cooked fare. The pepper chicken was great, went well with the wholesome chappathis. There's a tv (superfluous) and an electric kettle in the room, convenient. There's a small garden, very well maintained, with tables and chairs. Meals can be had in the fresh, brazing air, if you prefer. Really good service. The house is managed by Rohith and Anish, a warm and friendly couple. Eugene, their 6 year old boy, assists, I'm sure ! The location is really convenient, ideal base for the main spots in and around the town. Not to be missed is the early 19th century church, The St. Stephens. Grand British architecture, really beautiful stained glass windows. Very close, small walk down from the bungalow. Summing up, really happy with our choice of stay. Total of 6 rooms, would be perfect for a group. Quite reasonable prices, given the location. Would definitely consider repeat visits !

Wyoming is a basic bed and breakfast bunglow which has been converted into a homestay sort of arrangement. Its located very near the town, yet far enough to keep you away from the noisy Ooty streets during peak season. The property is well maintained by Rohith and his family, it kind of gives you a coming back to home sort of a feeling when you reach or return to the hotel after an outing. Now you must be wondering why did I rate it Average, so here are the reasons: a) Room Service: While the rooms were cleaned everyday, the linen was left unchanged all through the 3 nights that we stayed. I did request for the bed sheet and the pillow covers to be changed, but they were not. Even the daily towel replacement was not done, and I had to request one. Given that it was a rainy season, I would expect that I dont have to get into a moist bedsheet and wet feel of pillow covers in the night. They didnt provide water bottles on a daily basis, they had a aquasure kept in the dining space, and we were not sure of its maintenance as the taste of the water was not good when we once had to refill. No soaps were provided in the bathroom. We were pretty much left for ourselves to arrange all this. b) Power backup: They have a generator but they wont turn it on till you go and ask them. It happened twice, once an entire night there was power cut due to rain and thunderstorm, but they didnt start the generator for the entire night. We were again left fending for ourselves with mobile torch to go to the bathroom etc. and since we didnt anticipate this situation, our mobiles discharged in the middle of the night. Again in one of the evenings, I had to go and ask them to turn on the genset. c) Food: They dont have a kitchen despite having 6 rooms to offer. They served breakfast, which was good in quality and quantity. If you are coming in late in the evening to checkin, you better arrange food on your own. They will provide you with an option to order from Hyderabadi Biryani House, where the food is rich/heavy with spices/oil and expensive. alternately you need to tell them atleast by 4 what you intend to eat from their menu, early in the day so that they can cook. Now I find it a little weird to decide what starter I would like to order in the night, in the morning itself. We order Aaloo Jeera for dinner, and it was full of oil at the bottom. d) Others - Please note that these are specifically my experience. I enquired about why alocohol is strictly prohibited (they have placed placards at multiple places about No Alcohol), to which the lady who takes care of the property replied that one needs to come with their individual licence if they want to drink. Rohith further added a more sensible response by saying that its not allowed in the common dining area. Well, I'd personally prefer a more logical answer than an ironcial one, so this put me off. When we reached there all the rooms in adjacent to the dining area were empty, Rohith told me that the people have gone out, but the truth is no one had occupied the rooms, I found that a bit weird, as at the time of booking we were told all the rooms are booked and we were given the deluxe room which is nothing but a large room with an additional window which opens in the garden and had to pay approx INR 700 more for the deluxe room. Given the above situation with the rooms, the night when there was a thunderstorm, I asked Rohith if my driver can be allowed to sleep on the couch at the dining space, as there was heavy lightning and rain, the answer was a plain no. I understand there are policies, but I wasnt asking for free stay.. just on humanitarian ground to allow the driver to sleep in a safe place, when the entire property was empty! So thats all I had on Wyoming, go just with a very basic set up in mind and with minimum expectations. The property is peaceful and well kept, but thats not all that many travellers look for.

The room was huge and a bargain for our stay. It had a fireplace(not sure if its functional). The bathroom is big and well lighted. There is 24 hour hot water. Kettle in room. Other amenties included TV and WIFI. Plenty of duvets to beat the cold. The employees are helpful, friendly and patient. Though meal options are limited, they are delicious home cooked food. The garden has a nice view of the valley (though a network tower is right next).

We spent two days at this lovely place. The room was good, the view from the garden fabulous, the meals simple but very tasty. But best of all the couple running the place were always nice and very helpful.

Beautiful peaceful Location. Lovely accommodations with an old world charm. Truly a Heritage bungalow but with modern plumbing...the best of both worlds! Staff are practically falling over themselves to see that you have everything you need and more. We had the option of ordering food from nearby restaurants but never availed of it as we got authentic home cooked south Indian food on the premises! For those who love nature, peace and lovely walks...this is the place for you. It's a short-ish trek down to the main shopping area/bazaar, but definitely take motorised transportation back... the climb is quite steep.
