We visited this place recently along with 26 members from the family and we booked 6rooms together.Getting there was a bit tough but somehow managed it to the top.Excellent view from the resort, good weather throughout the week, rooms were average with no amenities at all, the beds and pillows were nasty and smelly.Had to ask them for soaps and towels but nothing was available,The food provided within the place was too pricy and not really worth it. The staff were just horrible to deal with and most of them were drunk as anything. Ordered some chicken curry with chappathi for 26 people and the curry turned out to be a disaster, had no other option than to order an other veg kuruma curry to satisfy our hunger. Over-all the trip was good , just that the accommodation booked was just in the wrong place i guess. Note : - It would be better if we could just order some food from some other people and take it with us to be heated on the premises and serve. There are places before you go uphill where they can cater for big groups, highly suggest you get food off those people than depend on ciscilia heritage staff who are all drunk as skunk in the evenings.

Ciscilia Heritage home stay on New Year Eve was was quiet memorable. A great place for unwinding the hurly-burly city life, to forget the mobile phones, TV and other entertainments. Ideally located but one has to drive off road 3kms stretch of mud track from the junction. But ride was jaw-dropping and thrilling. The heritage facilities are not modern but good. Excellent ambience with perfect service whenever asked for. Guests can enjoy the on-site restaurant. Limited varieties of tasty ethnic food. My spirit still rests among the awesome experience of the exotic, enticing mountain cliffs, lush thickest and the charming "Land of coffee and tea plantations".

This place is 5 or 6 km from Nelliyampathi and the last 1.7 km drive is terrific. Even though the last 2 km or so is used exclusively for the hotel traffic which is not much, if you come across another vehicle in the opposite direction, then one of you have to back-up for at least 0.5km ! The rooms are very basic and poorly lit. The toilets are not well maintained. Hot water is limited to mornings only (the place was very cold even in September). Rs.1500/room/night. Bachelors and Gentle-men-only groups may not get the rooms; so check-up in advance. The food was good and the staff were cooperative. The location is excellent : deep inside the forest with no mobile connectivity.

Few months back we had a family outing to Nelliyampathy. Family means biiiig family with grandmas, grandpas, aunts uncles cousins nieces & all & chose to stay in ciscilia heritage as we could not find any other accommodation facility fit to "fit" us all in. Enroute we saw an elephant in the middle of the road, and everyone on their vehicles got down to take selfies with the elephant !! :o odi odi varumbo vazhiyil oru aana!! Forest guards came in and told everyone to get back to vehicles but no one obliged, they told everyone not to panic and it was a usual scene in those areas. Just as they were saying this, the elephant took a turn and strolled down near our vehicle, wow, no one panicked and everyone just ran with full speed!! :P "aarum pedikkanda ellaarum odikko :P After around one hour elephant went back in to the forest and we continued on. The way to ciscilia is really enchanting and mist clad natural beauty. We had talked to the facility owner and booked the entire place, at the time of booking & he had warned us that big vehicles are hard to reach till the destination. And also informed to hire jeeps from the last junction to the guesthouse. But we decided to go all the way top in the minibus itself as it would be difficult for the elders, which was not a wise decision. The approach road is not at all vehicle friendly, and you will have to walk to the hotel if not coming in a jeep, but I loved the walk through the tea estate. There are altogether 6 six rooms and all are spacious ones, for extra beds if needed. Ciscilia heritage, is a guesthouse on top of a tea estate with basic amenities. We have to pre-order anything extra that we may require in terms of food or any other. Rooms are nice, built in redbrick with terracotta flooring also. Don't have air-conditioning, which is not needed actually due to nice weather. Hot water is provided from a furnace connected to the rooms in morning only and that too for a limited period. There are not toiletries provided and we had to ask repeatedly for a towel, may be because it was overcrowded and full house. The place is managed by 2-3 staff and so most of service is pretty delayed. Food was made to pre-order and it was ok, nothing great, but good. Visit the place only if you are ready to stay away from Ur mobile, television & other luxuries you might expect from a resort, as it is not a resort but more of a guesthouse with minimal but adequate facilities. This is a place where you can relax & be away from other worldly distractions, enjoy nature, breath in pure air & be at ease. Some points, if visiting - No this is not another "Hill Resort" Will I come back? May be, eventhough I dont like to visit places once visited Will I recommend it to friends? Only to like-minded people after explaining everything, recommended only for the young or young at heart. Are there better options nearby? Saw one or two, but I still prefer ciscilia

Nestled in a tranquil area surrounded by evergreen forests of Nelliymapathi, I felt this place is a perfect gateway to escape from my stressful corporate life. Since ours were a pre-planned trip we were able to confirm the rooms approx. one month prior to our vacation. Some negative reviews of our fellow trip advisor members made me much tensed but we were adamant on our decision to stay at this place.. thank you team Ciscilia , our decision to go ahead with this property was 100% right and we were very much happy to be here. It is an old property which is in strict conformity to its tag name Heritage . A hotel with 6 rooms(out of which 2 rooms are not adjoined with other rooms) with basic facilities. Allotted rooms were clean and spacious and the proximity of the forest provided an enchanting ambiance and super cool environment.. It was seen that a troop of Nilgiri langurs were playing nearby our cottage in the evening. A wonderful view point is situated nearby this property and if you are lucky you my get wildlife sighting enroute. Thank you all.. We will be back soon
