Sprawling over 32 acres, Lakshman Sagar, is a chic re-interpretation of a quaint 19th century hunting lodge. The closest commercial airport, Jodhpur, is about 2 hours away, while Haripur railway station is only 3kms away.
With 12 mud and stone cottages of about 900 sq ft, Lakshman Sagar has been meticulously planned and conceptualized basis the zero kilometer concept.
Each cottage has a private splash pool and provides a panoramic view of the Aravallis and the lake. This lodge provides some on-site facilities which include parking, travel desk to assist and room service.
While the Zanana and Mardana (dining areas) sections are perfect areas to lounge with a great view of the property, the itineraries are customized to the guest's preferences which include activities like goat herding, breakfast in the fields, fruit and vegetable plucking, live cooking etc. all of which are reminiscent of the local village culture. Situated approximately two hours from Ajmer, Lakshman Sagar lies 10 kilometers off NH-14 en-route to Jodhpur via Pali.
It is strategically located in the center of the tourist circuit in the Marwar and Mewar region of Rajasthan. Note- Lakshman Sagar is surrounded by scrub jungle which is very rich in biodiversity. During August September in the monsoons, the population of living creatures increases due to annual breeding cycles.
This includes frogs which show up at times in the swimming pools and on rare occasions may also enter the room, all of which the team diligently tries preventing regularly. Insects are drawn to light and it is recommended to keep doors windows closed at night.
Occasionally snakes scorpions may be sighted when moving around the property, guests are requested to remain aware of their surroundings at all times, and not venture out post sunset without an escorted resort member.

We loved this small hotel. Unlike anywhere else we stayed in Rajasthan. Stylish rooms and totally relaxing surroundings. We found the management and service excellent - charming and thoughtful. Wish we had stayed for more than one night.

We had booked to stop here to break a long drive between Jaipur and Udaipur. At first as we bounced along a dirt track seemingly going nowhere we were convinced wed gone the wrong way but eventually arrived at the Lakshman. First impressions were mixed - it seemed a bit haphazard and the accommodation ( we were in villa 7) unusual - it was like a bit like a very fancy mudhut hippy hotel. However, the place is so quiet and relaxing. We had our own plunge pool at the villa and were right by a small lake where you could sit and watch all sort of bird life from peacocks, kingfishers and herons come to feed and drink. As there are only 12 villas the service is personal and friendly. The staff seem only too pleased to make your stay a good one. Our only regret is that we didnt stay for another night or two as a pleasant rest from the hustle and bustle of the main city tours.

A hunting lodge transformed into a small hotel with guests staying in cottages near a lake. It is truly unique and well worth a visit. Indian cuisine prepared with vegetables and spices from their nearby kitchen garden, attentive, informative and friendly staff and a range of activities combine to make this a memorable visit.

Absolutely stunning property, the peace and tranquillity incomparable to anywhere else but Unfortunately the resident management lets it down. A very nice guy, but no control or management skill whatsoever. The cottages are fantastically designed and decorated, but again unfortunately dirty. The very colourful cushion covers are dirty and one cant sit on them at all. The private swimming pools are dirty and cant be used. The Zanana is beautifully restored with striking design features but covered in bird droppings, the striking bright pink fabric blowing in the wind from the windows has never been washed and also covered in bird droppings. The organic food is unfortunately far from the flavors of India and rather bland and tasteless. The service in the restaurant is slow and erratic however nice. When I arrive at a Resort at 4pm, I expect my rooms to be ready, of three rooms booked only one was ready and serviced. All this points at the resort management unfortunately, if he had the staff under control all these little problems, which makes it unpleasant for guests, could be resolved in no time at all. I will have to reconsider before I take another group to this property.

Lovely comfortable room overlooking the lake. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Breakfast and meals are taken in a restaurant overlooking the lake with beautiful views. Prices were on the high side, there was a good choice and the breakfasts were very good. The only downfall are the pool and comfortable bar, they are not in the same building but are a golf cart journey up the hill in another hotel.
