I am a big TripAdvisor contributor and think long and hard about posting bad reviews as I know this is someones business. Having stayed in some fantastic properties in India on our trip this was a big disappointment. I understand the price was around a quarter of some of the other properties we stayed at. So there are some things you accept - basic accommodation, basic food, less personal service, some maintenance requirements (I think partly why lizards and frogs frequented our room). However there are some things I cant really accept - dirty lodges, unfriendly staff, dirty restaurant staff uniforms, the same food being served 4 meals in a row, loads of staff yet litter/broken chairs around. The location is superb but no comfy place to sit. No water for a shower on day 2. And an owner that seemed not to care. Oh and we arrived at this laid back location to a group of 100 kids. Its such a shame that Panna (which is a really stunning national park with amazing things to see close by Pandav and Raneh Falls and Khajaraho) has little choice of accommodation. The location was one of the best but spoilt by such a poor hotel. A clean, new towels, some maintenance, friendly staff (all cost nothing) could make this a 3 star review but rebuilding and new owners would be required to make it 5 star. Special mention to our naturalist and spotter for evening drive - great staff in a truly awful hotel.

Stayed here for 2 nights as part of a group stay. Most of the previous reviews are accurate. Shabby very basic cottages, no hot water, average food and not a smile to be had amongst the staff. Pretty bad all round and definitely don't recommend.

Perfect location & huts strikes u.but all your enthusiasm vanishes after you see the owner's dog & many cats there which licks the plates served for the guests.when we complaint, staff said we can't do anything to them as they belong to owner's wife.they are serving the guests in most unhygienic way. The staff serves non-veg to vegitarian guests.the restaurant has not been cleaned since years.full of dust & webs. It's best jungle lodge to stay as location near River & good full furnished huts but avoid eating there.

I happenned to visit this place on my way to Raneh falls from Khajuraho. Although Raneh trip was not that successfull as being summers there was hardly any water but Ken river and Ken river lodge(Tree house is what I call it) is like a hidden treasure. Its a destination in its own. They have rooms for stay too. You get a totally different experience in this property. If nothing do stop by for lunch around 12 and I bet you wont leave till late evening. Its right on the bank of Ken River, the restaurant is around the tree trunks and is multistory. Very good food, awesome view, gives the feel of goa. Only thing if you are sitting up in the tree house your food will take time as the kitchen is on ground floor, which should not be a problem to anyone. I can go on and on.
