Pathankot is counted among the most favoured places to visit in Punjab as the city is known to cast a spell over visitors with its rich cultural heritage, age-old traditions and wonderful landmarks. During their Pathankot travel, tourists may find this destination amongst the best they have ever visited.
The prime tourist places in Pathankot include the forts, temples and shopping streets. The famous Nurpur Fort, built 900 years ago by the gallant Rajput rulers, is visited by thousands of tourists. Besides marvelling at its splendid architecture, tourists can offer prayers at the temple located within its premises. The Shahpurkandi Fort is another magnificent historical building in the city that was built by a Rajput Chief in 1505 AD. Though the fort is in ruins, it is still visited by tourists because of the shrines situated within the premises. From here, tourists can also enjoy a breathtaking view of the Ravi River.
