What's Good: Its a Govt Hotel what can you expect even after paying 5500 rupees. One of the worst hotels of Patna.

The persons deployed at Reception desk are not at all sincere to their work, despite informing them about GSTIN via mail and in person. They didn't include the same in my billing. Moreover during my last stay they had goofed up with wrong food billing. It was the same representative who repated such errors. Totally irresponsble act, they are a stain on Govt Hotel. On complaining, they didn't have any rectification mechanism. They mention in their disclaimer about it, but don't follow it themselves. Worst experience ever and repeated.

One of Patna's biggest tragedies , perhaps , is just how bad it's hotels are , even the top end ones. I changed 4 hotels in a week long stay and finally ended up at the Ashok, despite the reviews here . I find the hotel to be totally acceptable and very comfortable in fact . The staff is polite , the check in is quick. The room is small but about the same size as your would find in a high end private hotel - for half the price. The bathroom is tiny but I did not face any problems; it also had all the amenities one would require. The bed was very comfortable - I stayed in an executive room and the decor was ok. My executive room faced the swimming pool and it was insulated from outside noise. The AC was quite old but it totally chilled the room. The linen was super clean. Yes the hotel is a but run down and perhaps needs renovation , but it totally worked for me. The morning breakfast wasn't elaborate but whatever was on offer , was tasty. I actually found the staff to be quite polite and efficient. Tip - book via a travel app for a cheaper deal . If you want a club class room , that's only available on the ITDC website . Next time I come , I will book myself here rather than pay exorbitant prices in private hotels

Recently been to this hotel on an official tour.Property is located at 15-20 minutes from airport. We not only stayed here but this was also the venue of our programme. Rooms are clean (with clean linen) but very small with no fresh air.Everywhere they have put very thick curtains with closed windows so its impossible for you to get fresh air in this hotel. The hotel has spacious lounge area, swimming pool and has parking facility. The quality of food is good and the hotel staff is very courteous. But the prices that you pay for the stay and food is too much.

Hotel Pataliputr Ashok is a good place to stay in Patna.Fascilites are fairly good.Rooms are clean and comfortable.Room ~service is ok. Free Wi~fi needs repeatedly help from the hotel staff ,but they are cooperative.T V sets are quite old.In the era of LCD/Flat TV they are still providing the old models. Restaurant services are fair.Staff is courteous. But staff on the Reception is quite arrogant. They need a lot of improvement........ because "Reception" of any hotel is the mirror of whole..... establishment. I think management will work for it's improvement to make it ......the best hotel in this part of this city.

We were shown to a room and the first thing I noticed was that the airconditioner was an old model. I checked it and the vent had no spring, so cold air would head straight down onto my side of the bed. We tried another room and the same thing applied, so we opted for the first one and I put a bandaid on the aircon vent to keep it in place for the night. The room was quite OK except that we couldn't program the TV for some reason. After multiple repeats of CNN news we gave up on that. The bed was fine. We slept well, but the shower had the tiniest amount of water pressure - enough though for an adequate shower in my case. My wife opted for the bucket that was placed in the recess and showered the old-fashioned Asian way. This is not good for a supposedly 5-star hotel. Breakfast was OK. Reception was a bit offhand. The young man when we arrived didn't really want to know what I was saying. He may have been new, as when I asked later where the nearest ATM was, and he ignored me, an older man came to the rescue and was very helpful. This is really a pretty run-down hotel.
