Fine hotel on MG Road
by vishmehr24 on
We spent entirely satisfactory 3 days in the MG Road facing rooms in this hotel. Though the hotel entrance is via a short dingy alley, the hotel itself is very neat and clean. Rooms are spacious, Service is good.

This Hotel is located in M G Marg which is the Most Famous or lets say Most Happening place in Gantok...!!! I would recommend you to select a Room with View...!!! The price is Affordable...!!! The Rooms are Spacious...!!! The Staffs are Friendly...!!! The only draw back is Climbing the Stairs, however, it will not be a problem unless you're Old enough...!!! Overall a Great Hotel...!!!
One should not go to Hotel Karma at Gangtok. There are better hotel options in MG Marg.

Hotel karma has no staffing. Two staffs are there sometimes available and sometimes not. It has got long stairs to climb with drainage open on one side with foul smell. It has got prime location I must say that but other than that it does not have anything to look forward to. It also has construction work going on all day and night. Property is nice but I was left all alone in the hotel as there was no one to assist me and my family during our stay.
A pathetic experience

We had booked this hotel form Goibibo for three days as Good location at MG Marg and good review, We reached Gangtok at 12:20 p.m. We informed the hotel staff about our arrival, still we had to wait for a long time for the arrival of a porter. A pathetic experience was awaiting us. Our room was 306.. We had to wait for an hour as room cleaning was going on. The room was untidy. The room was damp with a garbage vat at the front of the window. The room was stinking with the smell of the garbage. When we complained regarding the absence of sunlight and bad smell the hotel staff replied as we booked a non-view room and thats the reason we got this room. They argued with us and paid a deaf ear to our complaint. Seeing no other way we complained to Goibibo regarding this matter. Goibibo instructed the hotel authorities to change our room as quickly as possible. They replied that it was impossible for them to change the room as no room was vacant and they can only change the room the next day. We felt uncomfortable but still were compelled to adjust. Next day we left for sightseeing. We rang up time to time to the hotel staffs to change our room. This time they had another answer . They told us that they will allot a different room that day and another room the next day. This room shifting everyday made us unable to wash our clothes and we had to stack the dirty clothes in our bag. The third room which they provided us was in a state of another mess , Room no 102. The bathroom drain was water clogged. No room service. This hotel is a visitors nightmare. Id not recommend this to anyone.

Room No 401 is good one but I’d not recommend this hotel to anyone.
