  • Wonderful time

    by Samir V on January 7, 2018

We visited Tathastu in Dec17, & we had a wonderful time. The villas are very thoughtfully designed, almost like own home.Great decor.Spa was good and staff was very nice. Service was superb-kudos to the management. Indoor swimming pool had temperature control and kids loved it.Food was tasty and they even accommodated our wishes(pizza, pastas and even salt free diet!).We had campfire with a guitar player singing fab hindi songs. Our only regret was we couldnt see any Tiger. My suggestion to the management is to keep a small utility/general store in the campus.

  • If Its Pench NP, It has To be Tathastu!

    by Girish D on January 7, 2018

We, as family of five, did a safari vacay in Jan. Going with the recommendation from a senior naturalist, we booked at Tathastu. And what a perfect choice it turned out to be! First, to get a couple of downsides out of the way: 1. the mgmt has to review its policy for casual vacationers who sing away aloud and along late into the night with the inhouse guitarist disturbing those who have checked in purely for gaming wherein rides can begin as early as 5am! We had to have the mgmt intervene on two consecutive nights which was promptly addressed by the front office. 2. mgmt has to invest in a better set of thermally insulated foodware, including effective thermos flasks, to keep the well-packed and sumptuous breakfast and tea hot during winter morning safaris. The last day saw us have cold tea on a wintry morning. 3. the cave room (Pyorithadi) has a weird sound that goes on few secs & off all night, perhaps a pump or something. Check this out please, mgmt. NOW for the upsides: everything else other than the three above is absolutely fantastic! Superb property overall with an organic veggie garden. The food preps are for the gods, no less. Homely and fantastic. Good veg spread with usually one n.veg which is good enough. F&B service is overwhelmingly warm and impeccable. Govind and Anil deserve special mention here. Cave rooms have an attendant around for anything that may be needed. Bar is well-stocked and reasonable. Art centre is superb. Several things one can do on the property keeping even non-gaming guests gainfully engaged. Game rides are on the dot timewise with vehicles reporting clean and well addressed to keep the chill away. Priyabrata aka. Priyo is a keen and very enthusiastic naturalist eager to share info, giving us 5 tiger sightings in 6 rides, spotting 4 different tigers! Fox, gaur, wild boar, neelgai, hawk eagle, owls summed up our forest rides. It doesnt get any better. Priyo has very good sense of the jungle, is knowledgeable, mild-mannered and non-intrusive. Get him if you can on your rides and you wont be disappointed. Girish (driver) deserves mention for his driving skills too. Staff all around seem joyful, jovial, sincere and dedicated.

  • Gracious hospitality....warm luxury !!

by drahuja on January 5, 2018

We had booked 15 rooms including the supremely luxurious Cave Room,Tree House and Luxury Tent for a small family reunion for 4 days. It was the meticulous and smooth planning of all the staff concerned which made our stay ever so comfortable and enjoyable. The Villa Rooms are spacious with a beautiful lawn in front and a common living room and kitchen. The attendant of each Villa is present throughout the day to cater to your needs. The bed tea/coffee and evening tea with cookies and snacks were just superb. Makes you feel right at home. The bathrooms are airy and spacious with individual geysers for piping hot water 24 hrs. A special mention of the ECO-FRIENDLY toileteries including the soaps and others. The thoughtful handcrafted showpieces in the Villa lend a true jungle charm to the ambience. Each Villa has a collection of excellent books on animals and the jungle as well as novels for casual reading. It was cold during our stay and the comforters provided were warm enough to protect from the cold. The Villa as a whole is well insulated, though it gets pretty chilly once you step outside early morning or after sundown. There are various lawns to loll around and soak in the sun with beautifully manicured and landscaped gardens and a multitude of trees. The upgraded Cave room,Tree House and Luxury Tent were superb in all respects and the families staying there had a wonderful time. The indoor heated pool was a boon and most of the guests had a splash even though it was peak winter. The resort has a multitude of activities such as Darts,Archery,Cycling,Burma Bridge,Nature Walk/Bird Watching,Arts & Crafts demonstration and we tried all of these. The children had a whale of a time trying their hand at pottery, metal fabrication and clay painting. Outdoor games like badminton and cricket are available. FOOD - Coming to the food,I must say that all meals provided were a revelation,Breakfast contained Eggs to Order and various dishes like south Indian- Idli,Dosa,Vada,Chutney, sambaar,Parathas,Pancakes,Cereals,Juices,Fresh cut fruits etc. Lunch and Dinner always had two Non-Veg dishes plus 3-4 Vegetarian dishes including the mandatory Paneer dish. The Hot Rotis/Parathas were fantastic and the Pre-dinner snacks just hit the spot. Best thing is all the dishes have minimum oil and taste like home food. The desserts were limited but delicious. We also enjoyed the New Year Eve party with a live DJ inside the sound proof hall and terrace dinner. Bonfires kept us warm in the chilly night air on the terrace. SAFARI- The highlight of our stay at Tathastu was the jungle safari in the morning. Since we knew it would be biting cold early morning, all of us were well prepared. The Gypsies were booked from Turia Gate and we had lovely animal sightings including the magnifiient Tigress-Collarwali with her 3 grown cubs. Seeing a tiger up front is a lifetime memory and the ones who saw them were talking about it for days.Other animals like Hyena,Jackal,Nilgai,Sambar,Spotted Deer,Wild Boar etc were sighted. Overall,it is the feeling of being one with nature and breathing in the unspoilt jungle air that made our trip memorable. The hospitality of all staff was commendable, especially Mr Iyer the Manager,Mr Ratan the Naturalist and jungle specialist,Mr Mandar the artisan In-charge and Mr Ashish the Naturalist. Kudos and heartfelt thanks to Mr Anil Agarwala, the owner of the resort who takes personal care of his guests and ensures that everyone enjoys in a special way at Tathastu. " SO BE IT "---- Waiting to visit again, for the lure of the jungle and Tathastu !!

  • Hospitality can't get better than Tathastu

by RachnaAgarwal on January 3, 2018

My 3rd trip to Tathastu and my 3rd review. I think now I go to Pench only for the experience at Tathastu and not the tiger or jungle or safari. Every trip I find something new has been added to the property and the experience. The constant attention to detail makes the place very dynamic and interesting and every time there is something new to explore and enjoy. This time we were a big group of 15 and we stayed in the Falcon villa. It was like our own home in the jungle. The resort guys set up a barbecue and bonfire for us outside our villa and we didn't want to sleep. The food and the spread in the buffet is also getting better every time. I think I am so spoilt now that I can't stay anywhere else.

  • Fabulous property to make memories

    by filet_oh on December 24, 2017

We spent 2 nights in the Luxury tents at the property and there, in the middle of the forest, we enjoyed utter luxury. Excellent property with tastefully done interiors and exteriors. The indoor pool was heated and despite the cold, the children enjoyed splashing in. The restaurant serves an elaborate buffet that is tasty and the service is extremely warm. Staff is well-trained and they go the extra mile to give you the very best. Every group is allotted a chaperone at check-in who is at your beck and call for assistance from morning wake up with a bed tea/ coffee to housekeeping assistance. The open jeep provided for the safaris has warm and hospitable drivers keen to give you an unforgettable experience. Rates are on the higher side but in our opinion, it was worthwhile. Special shout out to Govind ( FnB) and Rakesh (the butler) and Namrata ( Front Desk) who went that extra mile for us. Cant wait to be back again!
