Please dont get impressed by the reviews mentioned earlier. The pictures of the rooms have been taken much earlier and the property doesnt look the same,I stayed with my family in room no,6 and it was dingy, suffocating due to lack of ventilation, had cracks on wall, smell of public toilet in their bathroom...needless to say,we had to shift to another hotel the very next morning. This place,in true sense does not even qualify to be called a hotel. The so called breakfast is just about average and prepared without much heed to hygiene(be prepared to fall sick). Also, the manager is extremely abnoxious and totally unfriendly. They dont have sufficient staff either.
Avoid - they do not honour their bookings
by Jenniferp192736849 on
Fails at the first step of being a reputable guesthouse or hotel, which is to honour their bookings. Although we had written confirmation and acknowledgement of our booking, lescale really dropped us in it, during peak season no less. They had overbooked their rooms and we were forced to frantically call around for a spare room for a same day booking to find somewhere to stay. lescale were absolutely no help during this process. Be warned, just stay elsewhere if you want to be sure of your booking.
Only breakfast and view from breakfast area is the good thing
by Debo2468 on
The only good thing here was the complimentary breakfast and view from breakfast area. The rooms are dark dingy and humid. Windows not there in the rooms. The stairs are v narrow and not suitable for senior citizens.
Charming, but there are limits
by travelerAdelaide on
The guest house - and it's a guest house, not a hotel - is charming, excellent location. Plumbing is a bit outlandish (no hot water at the washing basin, only for the shower). Don't choose a room at the ground floor if you are noise sensitive (next to the reception) and not on the third or fourth floor if you have a lot of luggage or if you are not willing/able to climb a narrow staircase. Although the airconditioning is individual neither the fan speed nor the temperature can be adjusted. Choose carefully the agency you are booking with: booking.com overcharged us. Breakfast is good but you need to order what you want.
A slightly overpriced B&B

This little white coloured building is located right at the backside of the beach road. Though none of the rooms offer a view of the sea, the terrace that houses the cafe has a good view. They have a total of around 7-8 rooms, and each one has a personality theme. Mine was named Gandhi, and the decor had a frame with information regarding him. There are just 2 rooms on each floor, one with a mini balcony, and the other without (mine was the latter). There was just shaft area to open the room windows to. However, the cozy common room on each floor is such a delight to look at! Winding back up, I had booked a room for two nights via Booking.com, and then had to get in touch with the property's owner via mail to confirm that I would be coming in. I wanted to make the payment beforehand, and avoid carrying that much cash (there is no payment via booking.com), so they provided me with their bank details and I did the transfer. They were quite prompt in getting back with the confirmation. It cost me around 4700, and considering I was travelling alone, it felt a bit much. Can't complain, because the concept of a single room now looks like a thing of the past. And I was hell bent on finding a room near the sea. I reached the guesthouse on the afternoon of 9th September, 2019. I was shown the way to my room, and also given leaflets for exploring the places nearby. The room was on second floor, and a narrow staircase led the way to it. The room itself was very beautiful! It was kind of love at first sight for me. The amenities were pretty limited, though. -Soap in the bathroom -Toilet roll -Water in a bottle and glasses -Towels -The tea kit was in the common are, and so was a mini fridge. And that was pretty much it. The beach is barely a five minutes walk away. So, I didn't have to worry about parking my scooty in the overcrowded spaces in the evening, when vehicular traffic is restricted on the Beach Road. As everyone has already mentioned, the breakfast is great! And this is no exaggeration. Both the vegetarians and non-vegetarians have options to look out to, and the beverages are equally good. As I said, I found it a little expensive in the sense that it does not have a room service that justifies the price. The location and the property, though, are thoroughly lovable!
Rooms are pathetic. Please save money and book something far better for same price. We paid 4300 INR for this dark, dingy stay
