Don't go with the environment and location, the rooms from outside looks inviting but inside it's horrible. It was like a ghost house with dust and broken stuffs. We stayed here last weekend on 28th & 29th opposite to swimming pool. No Kitchen, It took some 1 to 2 hrs for them to provide power supply to our rooms though it's booked before, The photos I am attaching would be self explanatory

It was just a farm house with no restaurent facility, food was available but it was not good. Rooms are old and air conditioner was hectic with sound and not working properly. I think it was good for home lovers that who cook thier own and need pleasant aymosphere.

Its not even a hotel. its a homestay. a terrible small farmhouse. the rooms are okay but the ac makes a loud noise. the showers are broken and the rooms are not cleaned regularly which makes even walking in the room difficult. there is no prpoer provision for food too. spiders and lizards frequent your room which is situated in a not very habitable area. all this for 1100 at the cheapest! my advice - dont go.

We ( 5 people) went to The Oasis a.k.a Nalla resort on a weekend. They call it as a farm house but it is just a house with A/C bed rooms. It has 3 rooms, 2 on the first floor( with 1 double cot and 1 single cot beds targeted to accommodate total 6 people) and one at ground floor ( one double cot bed for 2 people) We were a bit lucky as on that weekend only we were there, so we got two rooms in first floor. Point to note is ground floor include a small bed room, small hall and kitchen, and if there are 3 different group of people then the stay is gonna be a big mess. There is no space in the house to get a bit of privacy. One thing I would like to tell is rooms are neat & clean, but bathrooms are average. We didnt go for group package ( which include food), and that turned to be a big mess, there are no good restaurants near to this place, except one shady restaurant called Tandoor hot pot which primarily targeting to serve booze not food . And no one is ready to do a home delivery to this place as its 5 KM away from Pondichery. You might be thinking thats a short distance, but you need to be in oasis to understand what I mean, apart from few houses nothing is there near. http://www.theoasispondy.in/Services.aspx :- this is the link which shows the services available in oasis. 3 air-conditioned double bedrooms true 24 hours hot water supply true A kitchen serving home-made food :- we saw a kitchen but no one was there to cook, that is a pathetic situation. A common dining hall and sitting area : This will turn out to be terrible experience if there are different people to stay as dining table is just for 4 people and the so called area is pretty small to accommodate more people. Open space amidst cashew trees to enjoy a cup of coffee : dont dream much after reading this, there are few concrete slabs in the middle of few cashew trees. Laundry : we never used so I dont know what is the situation Bicycles : This is the best part, we all know that in pondy we get bicycle for travel and that is one of the attracting factor, there were no bicycles present in oasis, and which made us stuck at the same place. Transportation :- terrible Doctor on call : never used Playground : Nice to hear but we never came across one any were near to such area called playground Access to Swimming Pool : This is a very diplomatic way of telling Access to swimming pool which means there is a swimming pool near some were, if you want you can go there pay and use Totally I would rate oasis as a very poor experience over the weekend, I would suggest all of you to search for a very nice place around pondy especially some beach resort which will have at least all the facilities especially food promised in the website.

My wife and I are great fans of the home stay concept. Rather than staying in impersonal hotels or hotels trying to be really 'personal', we generally opt for the home stay eperience. 'The Oasis' at Pondicherry was one such experience. We had driven down from Bangalore and this home stay is on the outskirts of Pondicherry. This was my first visit to this lovely city. The property is located midway between Pondicherry and Auroville. Since we were travelling on weekdays, we had the place all to ourselves, which was simply great. On weekends, I suspect, it can get a little cramped with at least three families staying there. Unfortunately for us, they didn't have a cook during our visit. But they have a boy who got us our breakfast and our dinner from the hotel nearby. He is very helpful and since we were out the rest of the time, the food part didn't bother us. Each of the rooms are air conditioned and the pricing is very reasonable. The rooms are clean and the entire experience is very homely. They have a large yard in the front with a couple of hammocks and benches. The property is part of a gated community which is filled with trees. People who own property there probably only visit once in a while. It's an interesting walk in the expansive land around, but be a little aware of the stray dogs around. In some areas they can be a little territorial. One of the highlights is the presence of a swimming pool for the community. It is well maintained and a treat for those who love swimming. Since most of our visits were to Auroville, this stay served our purpose very well as we were only a few kilometres away from Auroville. 'The Oasis' is a no-frills place and proprietor Kalpesh keeps it that way. He and his wife are an affable couple and we thoroughly enjoyed their hospitality.
